Colonial Williamsburg Hotels

The general park decor is "fall." There are a couple of creepy things (like roses with bloodshot eyes in Festia Italia, a coffin on the dais by the carousel, massive amounts of fake ravens and black netting on Big Ben near the entrance), but during the daylight they aren't bad. Add the right lighting and sound effects at night... During the day they also don't have costumed people jumping out at you and for the most part the haunted houses are closed. Some of them open at noon with no effects for walk through. The theme changes a little bit each year, but if you do a google image search for "Busch Gardens Williamsburg Hall o'scream decorations" there are a few daytime pictures. Ignore the costumed people. They don't come out until 6pm.

Thanks, very helpful! :)

I can tell you where not to stay. We just came back Wednesday from Quality Inn Historic on Bypass Road. No fridge in the room so you had to take a cooler which would not have been an issue if the ice machines worked. We were constantly running to the 7-11 next door for ice. Very limited breakfast for the size of the hotel and it took forever due to the number of people. My daughter got herself locked in the bathroom because the door did not close right. The maid couldn't even get her unlocked and of course when we went to call the front desk found the phone didn't work. Luckily we had connecting rooms so we used the other phone. Also the staff was not so great. When we went to check in I told the girl our names she started to look us up and then proceeded to leave to make coffee. :rolleyes2
