College Program?

Ok college kids.... have any of you thought about doing the college program? i am trying to go down next semester (from jan-aug) and i was wondering if anyone else applied or was trying to apply? My interview was last week so i should know if i made it in a week or two!

Last year, I attended the informational session, interviewed, and was accepted into a merchandising role. Unfortunately, my college led me to believe that I would get credit for the classes they offered, and at the last minute, informed me that I wouldn't. After I had to decline my offer, I was informed by disney that there was a way to transfer credits to a different school, and then back to my school, but it was too late. From what I hear, it's the experience of a lifetime. I hope to possibly do it during grad school, or to have an actual internship at WDW.

If you want to work at WDW after college, it's a great idea to get in this program, as you'd be hired without a doubt afterwards.

I got my letter! I AM IN!!!!! woot! from january to aug! so if any one is coming down i will be there

Congratulations on your acceptance! I've heard nothing but good things about this program and I'm sure you'll have a blast!

My interview is on October 18th. Hopefully it works out; I've got to travel to a different school to make the presentation. I'm pretty nervous about the whole thing, hoping I've got satisfactory credits and all.

i am VERY interested however I'm not sure if they have any roles for nursing majors...it seems like all business or engineering jobs? I would love to do it having gone to WDW every year since i was 3!!! i know they have an informational meeting here in november and im very interested in checking it out! Any info on whether i could take a course down there during the program? I would need to take an anatomy course to be on track to graduate

You'll have a great time - I did the program a few years ago and it was one of the best things I've ever done. However it's really what you make of it. Some people go down on the program as a "break" from school and parents and just want to party and end up miserable. If you're actually there for the experience like I was then you'll have the time of your life. I made a lot of really great friends that I'm still friends with years later. Some people think it "ruins the magic" once you see the inner workings but for me it made me love the place even more. Heck I'd get exciting passing characters backstage - nothing like Mickey and Minnie waving to you on your way to lunch!

It's also good on your resume, and if you want to work with Disney after you graduate you'll have more opportunities than just coming in with no history with the company. I have a couple friends that are now working there full time now that they've graduated, one actually works with the CP and the other is a mnager at a restaurant in Epcot. Neither of them had to "work their way up" like some CMs have to do, starting in the parks as a regular CM. Between their degrees and their experience with the CP they managed to get decent jobs right off the bat.

Congratulations!!! That's so awesome!!! Do you know what you're going to be doing yet? There's a rep, or something from the program coming to my school next week, so I'm definately going to check that out!!!

My friends and I will be down there in the beginning of June, so hopefully we'll see you!

Natty if you are thinking about interviewing then go to www.wdwcollegeprogram.com and fill out the application. I really think that you should interview for the experence you can always declain the offer. the people are very nice!
