Hello everyone! I'm looking for some opinions from people that have either done a CP already or just know more than I do lol...I'm sure there are many people like me looking for similar answers, so I thought I'd start a new thread- seeing as so many are crowded. So here it goes....

I'm graduating college early (could be next Spring, but I didn't want to over load my schedule as a theatre major- so I opted for Fall '13). Ideally I would be able to do the College Program right after graduating (since I can still apply while I'm a full-time student in the Fall), but I'm worried that if I don't get accepted into the program that it will have been my only chance to apply. So should I also apply for Fall '13 & take the chance that I will just have to wait to graduate in the Spring? I'm very torn over this, because I would love to go directly from a CP into a PI....and then remain at Disney FOREVER :figment:

Obviously I want to apply to both just to be safe, but say I get accepted in the Fall but would rather go in the Spring. If I turned down the fall (which I would most likely NEVER do lol), what are my chances of being accepted again in the Spring? (I would graduate in December, so which CP term would that be?) Also, how early can you apply? So much to contemplate!

Thank you for any advice & help I can get, hope you're all having a Magical day :smickey:

You sound exactly like me! I put of doing the CP because I just wanted to finish college first. So I'm graduating in May and doing the CP this Fall.

I couldn't fathom not getting into the program at all, so I applied the semester before (for Spring 2012), got accepted, declined, then went through the whole process again and got in for Fall 2012. Without a hitch thank goodness!

So I definitely think you should apply the semester before. If you don't get in, you'll have another shot. And if you do get it, you can decline and apply again for the next semester.

I talked to a Disney recruiter about how to get my best odds, and he suggested doing this. He said as long as you decline the first offer (and don't just not respond), it won't hurt your chances. And they asked me about why I didn't accept the first time in my phone interview, so you can just explain your reasoning.

Hope this helps!

THANK YOU so much!! This makes me feel a whole lot better, I will be doing that then. Mind sharing what you told them your reason for declining was if it isn't personal? I'm sure they will understand wanting to finish school first, but I'm afraid I'll get nervous if they ask me that. haha Getting ahead of myself agian.

p.s. Congrats! :tigger:

No problem. I just told them that it wasn't good timing for me and that I thought it was more important that I finish my last semester before trying the program.

During my interview she just brought up "we noticed you declined the program last time..." She was really friendly about it too (as recruiters always are), so don't be nervous!

Good luck to you! Hope your disney dreams come true haha

you can always try but to be safe I would pick up a 1 credit class at a community college in something you would like to do my friend took a 1 credit into. to 3d animation class for 200 bucks just to do the program that is really cheap to actually learn something that you love

This is all GREAT information. I have a son about to be a HS senior. Thank you.
