I would really like to do a Disney Internship but I would also really like to do the College program. Unfortunately my school does not have the College program but they do offer the interships(the internship program is coming to talk to us on the 22nd). My problem is that the internships that they offer have nothing to do with my major(philosophy), but sort of have something to do with my career choice (lawyer). Do you think I can still get a decent internship if my major does not go with the program I want and I have not done the college program?

Regardless of whether or not their school participates in the On-Campus Presentations, US-Based Post-Secondary Students may apply for Disney College Program Roles at the Disneyland Resort or Walt Disney World Resort by viewing an E-Presentation thru http://www.disneycollegeprogram.com/.

Disney Professional Internship Positions generally do give preference to those who have previously completed a Disney College or International Program, or who are currently employed by The Walt Disney Company and Affiliated Companies. However, it is still possible to obtain one of these internships even if you haven't completed a program before.

In addition, please remember that the Disney Professional Internship Program is a program of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts and only covers certain positions at the Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort or Walt Disney Imagineering.

Many work areas throughout The Walt Disney Company and Affiliated Companies (ex: The Walt Disney Studios, Disney Consumer Products, The Walt Disney Company Corporate, etc.) offer internship opportunities that are not considered part of the Disney Professional Internship Program. These programs do not generally require that you have previously completed a Disney Student Program, and do not give it any other special weight other than thru consideration of your previous employment with the company.

To obtain information on these opportunities, please visit http://www.disneycareers.com/ and search our current openings.

thanks but when I said my school doesn't have the college program I didn't mean that they don't come to the school for the presentation. I meant that they do not let us do it. They won't give us credit for it and strongly discourage us from going especially if we want to graduate on time.

Do you pay to go to college?

They tell you when to graduate and what career choices to make? Why?

My school probably won't give me credit but I'd go anyway. I don't care when I graduate, as long as I graduate eventually.

I found out after i got down there for my first program that my school does not give credit for the CP. :confused3 I am just gonna take online classes during my next one so that i am still earning credit.
If you really want to do this, then i really think you should!! it opens up a lot of doors for you once you have done the College Program :thumbsup2

Yes I am paying ALOT to go to college over 40,000 a year.
They don't tell me what career choices to make but I want to graduate in four years so that I can go to law school and graduate by the time I am 26. And i can't do the after graduation thing because that will make me loose the first semester in law school and I would really not like to do that. thanks everyone for your responses. I will be talking to my advisor about this as soon as he is back from sabadical

You can apply for the CP the semester before you graduate and do the program the Semester after...HTH!

My school originally wasn't too fond of the idea either. I took the Disney courses and looked through the courses that they offered at my school and tried to argue some with the registrars office. That partly worked but I still wouldn't graduate on time, so I'm going to apply during my last semester of college. Or you could go and then take summer school classes to catch up on a semester.

I really can't take the semester after I graduate off because I am going to law school that semester. I might try the summer courses but my school has a strict policy with summer courses we can only go to our school to take them and I live in a completely different state than my school so it would be really hard for me to do summer classes. thank you for all of your help I am going to a meeting with my advisor next week and will be talking to the registrars office soon.
