We've decided we want to get a watch for our son, but have no clue as to what's a good watch to get. We'd like a nice one - whatever that means.

DH says around $100, more or less.

Most "good" watches cost far more money than that. So if you are trying to go for a classic, fabulous watch to last a lifetime (or a long time), I don't think $100 is going to accomplish that.

Since your son is graduating and, I am assuming, a young man, he might be very interested in a "sports" watch which, in the $100 category, could be very nice. However, if he's not overly athletic or has a sporty style, he may not appreciate that.

You can order them online but I do believe that Macy's probably carries them. I have a Fossil outlet store near me. I think any major department store has them.

Look into Citizen ..a little more money but a much better watch. And a timepiece is a wonderful gift for a college grad.

There is no way I could pick out a watch for ds17 - he's so picky. He has two, both of which he knew exactly what he wanted. One is a white sports watch (don't remember the brand, but he was specific), the bigger an Invicta, which resembles a large clock on his wrist. He spent weeks finding the one he wanted.

Well, graduation is tomorrow, don't think I can get it that fast. I looked them up and Macy's and Nordstrom here has them. But he's decided he wants a new cell phone instead (KIDS!)

Yeah, they do. But we'd heard that a nice (more dressy) watch would be a good gift for someone now going to be in the real, business world. It could be bad form pulling out a phone in the middle of a business meeting.

But he needs a new cell anyway. So that works.
