My DD is graduating college in about 2 weeks! :cool1:

Her degree will be in Special Education (LBS1). She's always wanted to be a teacher since I can remember but decided to go into special ed because her youngest sister has a rare genetic disease and can not be educated in a regular ed classroom. She really wants to make a difference in the lives of children with special needs.

Anyway, I'm looking for a special gift for her. I would prefer a piece of jewelry that she can have forever. DH agrees (really he says that it's up to me. ;))

I was looking at Tiffany and came up with a few pieces.

This is one http://www.tiffany.com/shopping/Ite...287465+101323338+101424819-x+-n+6-ri+-ni+0-t+

She doesn't need a laptop or briefcase as she already has these.

I'm open to opinions and suggestions!

As a fun enhancement to her gorgeous jewelry, get her a nice tool box for her first home.
I still have mine from almost 40 years ago and I use it often.

When DD graduated from college, we bought her a charm bracelet with 3 charms significant to her college experience. There was a charm of a diploma, a cross signifying the Jesuit tradition of her university and since one of her majors was criminal justice, the third charm was the scales of justice.

We have added other life milestones charms as they have occurred.

She loves it.

Thanks for the suggestions.

DD has had a charm bracelet since she was young. We started collecting charms while on vacation but I can't honestly tell you the last time that she worn it.

DH is going to gather some tools (he's a tool man so he has multiples of most and is going to put them in an extra tool box that he has) but I don't foresee her moving out in the very near future.

Keep the suggestions coming!

my mom bought me a gorgeous diamond ring for my 21st birthday/graduation...unfortunately, as a single woman, i fear wearing it out sometimes, thinking that the boys think it's an engagement ring. (even though it's on my RIGHT hand...) :lmao:

i like the last one and the dream one. Definitely go for something classic, that she can wear with anything, for a long time.

Pearls, maybe?

Congratulations to your daughter - you must all be very proud! :goodvibes

Out of the four listed, I really like the last one. While the others are all pretty, the last one is timeless and won't go out of style, it's a very classic pendant.

I'm sure she'll love whatever you pick out!
