College Football

Someone from an LSU message board summed up the LSU/Bama game this way---The game could have gone either way, and both teams were deserving of the win. However, fate fell our way that night.

We are also concerned about the Hogs, and we know that home field advantage is overrated. Arkansas is a tough team, and we will not be missing it.

Good luck to all today Sat. the 12th.
Love college football and WDW!!

Well testtubes,

Another SEC team one way or the other will take the BCS title.

Are u going to try to be in New Orleans on Jan 9?

Bama ed

YES YES YES
Just returned last night from Atlanta where we had a wonderful time!! Of course, it helps when you win the game. We met several very nice Georgia fans who were very excited to paly in the SEC championship game. They really enjoyed the first half of the game while we rarely sat down during the second half.

It has been an absolutely amazing season and we have been following as much as possible. That is the main reason that we did not plan a trip to WDW this past year. It takes a little bit of $$ to follow the team especially out of state.

What do I want for Christmas? Two tickets to the BCS championship game. We know the way to New Orleans. We are hoping for a most memorable game and will be enjoying all the hype over the holidays.

Good luck to all this Bowl season and safe travels.
Love college football and WDW!!

The good thing, testtubes, is no matter who wins the NC game:

- if LSU wins, it's the same as the regular season when LSU beat Bama 9-6\
- if Bama wins, it will be something of an upset as Bama is #2

either team will restore a measure of quality and respect to the SEC/National Champ after last year's debacle. No place to go but up, brother! :cool2:

Good morning, everyone. Santa passed late last night as we bought and picked up our tickets to the championship game. We are so excited and will be enjoying New Orleans for that entire weekend prior to game. Just hope that is doesn't rain!! We really want to go to the WWII museum since we haven't been since the year it opened. We will also hit the Cafe du Monde on Sunday before or after mass.

The weekend brings Bowl season. Alas, we will be watching lots of football for the next two weeks. I can hardly believe football is almost done. It sure went by fast ( sort of like a WDW vacation).

Good luck to all and pray for safe travels and a Merry Christmas.

Wow testtubes that's great!

You got tickets to the game that's super. I have a seat on the 50-yardline in my living room though (on my 65-in HD set). I used to go to New Orleans about once a month for about 5 years oh-so-long-ago. Those were pleasant trips. Fly into NO airports, go downtown near the Quarter to visit the corporate office. Eat/drink on expense account. Head out into the hinterland for a week (mostly south of I-10 all the way to Lake Charles). Bullet back to the airport for the Southwest flight home. Loved going to Preservation Hall on a slow night.

Would love to see the WW2 museum. Opened since I left. Used to spend that one night at the Monteleone on Royal Street with the Carousel Bar.

Gotta say Roll Tide though. :cheer2:

Check with you later.

BamaEd and Testtubes - probably no one else on these boards care about Monday night like we do :happytv: In years past, this thread would've been hopping with Auburn, Florida Gators, and even some Texas thrown in there.

Hope you have fun in New Orleans! That place will be rocking. And I will be on the same 50 yrd line as Bamaed!

Go SEC! Geaux Tigers!

Oh yes my youngest DD & I will be watching from our living room also. My oldest DD is in the DCP @ WDW so they plan a BCS party to watch the game similar to the party they had with the previous LSU-BAMA match up. If it is a nail biter (which I'm sure it will be ), I'll walk the dog around the block & my youngest DD will text me with updates.

I saw sad news earlier that fans were in RV accident in Mississippi while traveling to the game.

Congratulations to the Alabama Crimson Tide for their dominating victory over LSU last night. Alabama was clearly better prepared and LSU did not successfully make adjustments. Nick Saban is building a dynasty in Tuscaloosa and it reminds me of my years growing up in Tuscaloosa in the late 70s when Paul Bryant had his last great run of championship teams. I sold programs as a teenager before those games then got in to see the games for free. Little did I know what I was experiencing then; I know now what is happening and I tell my kids to enjoy it while they can.

Today on the "day after" I think most LSU fans are questioning Les Miles' strategy. LSU had a great season, won the conference championship, and beat a number of ranked, bowl-winning teams. Alabama basically did the same thing they did last year to Michigan State in the bowl game which was absolutely crush the opponent on defense and score enough points to get the victory.

Bama and LSU tee it up on Saturday November 3, 2012 in Baton Rouge and of course it should be a great game.

Testtubes, what was your experience at the game? How was the time in NOLA? Eat any good meals?

Reauxlll Tide :cheer2:

Returned yesterday from NO where we had a great time from Sat. until about the middle of the third quarter of the game. It was a long trip back to the MH as we listened to LSU sports radio show. The whole season was amazing, and it was very hard to go out on such a sour note!! Needless to say we survived the night and the 3 hr. drive home the next day.

Congratulations to the Alabama team who played an almost mistake-free game.

P.S. Bama ed, we met some nice Bama people who probably did not get much sleep that night following the victory. We did eat very well while there as we always do in B.R. too. We mostly cook our own food at the campsite but did go out to eat one time at Jack Dempsey's which is a tradition when in N.O.

May pass on any bowl game next season and just head to WDW. Yet, maybe if the game is in Florida?? See you next season and congratulations again on the win. Love college football and WDW!
