college football top 25 is out

LSU fans are not in denial. It was decided before the season began that the winner of the Sugar Bowl would be declared the national champion. It was also decided that the BCS #1 and #2 team would play in the game. LSU won that game and is therefore THE national champion!

USC and those that share in their opinion cannot change the rules of the game because they do not like the outcome. Changing the rules during the game in order to declare yourself the winner is what children do.

U of MN Golden Gophers are number 23!

Unfortunately, our traditions include watching Michigan leave the field with the Little Brown Jug every year (after giving up a 28 point lead in the 4th quarter in 2003!) and regretting the destruction of Memorial Stadium so we could play in the Metrodome.

Our biggest rivals IMO are Wisconsin and Iowa. We try to get over losing the Little Brown Jug by winning Floyd of Rosedale and Paul Bunyan's Axe.

In the context of 40 years of futility, I'm THRILLED with being 23 in the preseason poll!

Go Noles!

Biggest rival is Florida, but I don't see them posing much of a threat this year. :teeth:

Michigan all the way!

Traditions include filling the largest stadium in college football for every game, a fight song that John Phillip Sousa (who probably knows a little bit about this sort of stuff) called the best in college football, the famous Block M Marching band formation, and vibrantly colored (not necessarily attractive, granted) helmets.

(note for our friends in Ohio: please be reminded that the Michigan Marching Band was the very first to ever perform a "script ohio". Also be reminded that your mascot is an acorn, and the "buckeye leaf" license plates look a great deal like "marijuana leaf" license plates. Lastly, please be reminded that 35 > 21.)

(note for our friends in Louisiana: please be reminded that there is no such thing as a national championship in college football, and that Nick Saban is the root of all evil.)

Kansas State University!!!!!!!!!

I was just tickled to see them in the top 15 after last January's dissapointing season ending. Last season was the best that I had ever seen them play (when the beat Oklahoma I thought I had died and gone to heaven). Anyway, they have come a long way since my grandfather played for them in the early 30's.

Yay! My team made the list!!!!!!!
We won't lose a game this year, workingal...Only Maryland worries me (fatman seems to have our number) but we out-talent them pretty much all over the field this year, so I think we'll get 'em at home. BC will be solid, but they will NOT win in Mo'Town on the way out the door to the ACC(ept no responsibility for anything your athletes do). I think we're clear sailing until the bowl game.

As for Virginia "Hey Marcus, can I bumb a doobie...and is that your baby sister or your new girlfriend" Tech...all I can say is: :rotfl:

;)

[[[[As for 'Bama, if you would quit chasing UT for having a conspiracy agains you maybe you could focus on Football!]]]

I totally agree with you, CarolA. Quit worrying about conspiracy theories.

I am hoping that the VOLS will do well this year. We still do not have a quarterback, but it took a few games before Fulmer finally decided on Claussen a few years back.

Also, LSU should be #1.

That's a BUNCH OF BULL!!!

LSU is ranked #3 and they are National Champs.

The BCS Sucks!

This poll has nothing to do with the BCS

GO VOLS!!!!!!

First of all I know the ESPN poll has nothing to do with the BCS = I was just stating a fact that the BCS is FUBAR!

Also, I know a few UT fans that are still upset about losing the SEC Champonship in 2001 - seems like a little anger still exist in alot of UT fans.

Also, what is up with Orange & White as the school colors??? My reason behind the colors is because of all of the Road Construction Tennessee has!

It's also not, you know, last year, so what difference does it make who the champ was ? It's all about this team, not the last one.

That said, I HATE official preseason polls. I don't mind the speculation and things, but how can you rank a team that hasn't even practiced yet, let alone played a game ? It wouldn't be a big deal if there were a true championship in college football, but since there isn't, all we've got to go by are the polls, so it would be nice if they were a bit more accurate than "Hey, I think they might be good".

Richard, Georgia is the one team making me sweat this year and its mostly because you guys are really out to get LSU. I have a friend who is an LSU alumn and professor at Georgia and he said this game is all they can talk about!
