The best two tips I can pass on are to watch Mosesavers for tips and here on the Dis! Here are my ways to save cash:
1. Go in the off-season, less crowds and cheaper rates. Jan is a great time to go.
2. Stay at a value resort. Since it will be just the two of you, the room (I am assuming) will not be as big of a deal anyway. Now, while you do not have to worry about extra beds, cooking breakfasts for kids, or having a quick way back to the hotel for naptimes save some cash on the room. My favorite value is the Pop.
3. Look into an Annual Pass. At certain times during the year you can save a bundle by buying an AP and booking your resort as room only. In Feb. we saved $50 a night at the POR with my AP. If you figure in the additional cost of the pass and the room savings we still saved an extra $100.
4. Take snacks and breakfast items. Eat a big lunch and snack at dinner, at counter service places order kid's meals for yourself.
5. Get as many things outside WDW as possible...autographs are fun, but the autograph book costs $8! Get a cute Disney themed book from
Walmart before you go for $2. Look close for unique or WDW only items when buying souviners...the same item outside the park will generally be 1/4 of the cost inside the park.
6. Do not buy anything the first day or two of your trip...I always over-spend when I break that rule! lol
7. Call to book your ressie, sometimes you can get better deals by calling than you can on-line.
Have a great trip!
