My mom got a surprise trip to the World from Santa. She is a 65 yr. old widow who is legally blind, and my dad wouldn't fly. Her dream is to "see Mickey" and all that goes with it.

We arrived yesterday and the cold is the least of her (or my) concerns. Now don't get me wrong, of course sun and 65 would be better, but we planned on a little shopping and touring today anyway.....nothing can take the smile off of her face.....it is awesome. Tomorrow is suppose to be the last of the cold, so we plan to eat and shop.....no worries.

Oh HockeymomNS...please please please do a bit of a trip report? My girls and I asked my 66 year old mother to come with us in November and she's sitting on the fence a bit because she's a nervous travel and concerned about leaving my Dad (man's never had to "bachelor it" :).)

It would help if she could see someone her own age having all that Disney fun! She's been before but those experiences weren't great because of her traveling companion :rolleyes1 (no it wasn't me...)

You picked a good week to go....tempuratures supposed to drop here mid week and, hopefully, they have nowhere to go but up there!

I am glad you are enjoying WDW in spite of this ugly day. I am thrilled that she came and you can create some lifetime memories together.

That sounds like an awesome trip, HockeyMom! Your mom has just the right attitude - the magic is there even in the cold. I hope you guys are having a wonderful time!

How fun!! Stay warm and dry and live it up. I cant wait to hear how it goes.

I hope you give some more details. We are taking my 85 year old Mom with us in February. She wants to stay at the resort (AKL) while we are at the parks, but I am trying to talk her into going to at least one park. She says she is old and slow.

This is so great!
I hope you and your mother have a fantasic vacation. :thumbsup2

I will def do a report of some kind when we get home. In a nutshell, she is loving every minute, and way more eager to step out of her comfort zone than I expected. We did Chef Mickeys last night and now she would like to tour/eat at some more of the resorts.

It sounds like your Mother brings sunshine with her whever she goes.

Have a great time and make wonderful memories!
