Cold In Orlando This Morning!

I really feel for anybody in WDW right now. I just saw on the news that Daytona Beach was 36 today and told my husband that I feel so bad for everybody down there. I know that we always plan to be there when it's cold here. I think that it would be awful to go looking forward to any bit of warmer weather and get there and find our own normal high. I'll just sit here and think warm toasty thoughts for you all as long as you think them for me at the end of Feb. Enjoy anyway!!

PS-to the Floridians-don't feel bad for not liking the cold weather, we just like to complain so you feel bad for us.

PS-to the Minnesotans-Ouch! I saw that you had -54 somewhere. No warm thoughts will help you, I'm afraid.

for the info. However, I must say that 39 degrees in the a.m. sounds warm. It was 14 degrees here this a.m. and the high will only be 30. My husband is actually in New Smyrna right now on business, I'm going to see him Friday, coming back on Monday. He said the same thing - he's so mad that he missed the 80 degree weather. We're going to go to Disney one day over the weekend..perhaps Sunday. I'll be sure to bring long pants and a sweatshirt. Darn it - I was hoping for at least 70 degrees. They are calling for snow here this weekend, so I'm glad I'll miss that. We live in NC, on the western side.

It is 16 degrees in Philly right now - 40 sounds balmy! :earboy2:

Thanks for the heads-up....we leave in 13 days!
:cloud9:

I woke up this morning and the news said the temp at the next town over was 2 degrees. It gets cold up here, but not usually like this. I guess we are all getting a cold snap, including Florida!

We spent the MLK weekend in Orlando and I can tell you that we were very cold at times--and we live in Boston! When we woke up yesterday morning it was 43 degrees but sunny. Went to SeaWorld and did fine but had layers on. On Sunday, in AK, it was very cold. Misty and under 50 degrees. I think the reason it is more uncomfortable is that you are OUT in it for a long time (especially at a place like AK) so that you get chilled. It's in the single digits here in Boston today but I don't need to spend much time out there.

Would have liked a pair of gloves for the trip. A ski jacket would have seemed a bit much but we did have a million layers on. The ski jacket would have been less bulky and would have come in handy at Logan Airport last night :)

So to each his own. It's still a great time! And the lines are shorter puckerup:

The current prediction says:

Weather next week will be in the 70's - so don't forget shorts.

Temperature swings from high to low will only be about 20 degrees.

Just returned tonight to 5 degrees and alot of snow. We walked around Disney this weekend with no sun, temps in the 40's and alot of wind. It was very cold to us and we bundled up with hats and gloves. I was very uncomfortable in FL as I am here now at home. When I go out here I have boots, socks, turtlenecks, scarves, heavy coats and usually run from the car to the house. In WDW you are out in the winds for hours. My DS wanted to try the new slide at OKW yesterday morning and the lifeguards had the pool closed as it was 45 degrees out, and while chill below 40 - not safe for kids to be swimming. The water was steaming like a hot spring. Would I rather be in45 degrees and at Disney then 5 degrees and at home - yes, but without the sun and all it sure isn;t like the warm days we crave this time of year. It was very cold. I have been when at night it froze and all the plants died overnight, but the sun shined during the day and that made a hugh difference. THis last Fir, Sat and most of Sunday was just gloomy, windy and cold. The parks at night were very empty which made it easy to go on rides. Always an upside at Disney!

Today up here it's only 5 degrees and no sun :sad2: We leave tomorrow morning to go to Florida I can't wait. It was so cold last night that one of the heating pipes froze. Need to be in Florida now :bitelip: .
