I get cold really easily, especially when out to eat. I'm worried that I'll freeze in August! Has anyone noticed any chilly restaurants while at WDW, or have all been pretty temperate?

I'm the same way--even if it's 95 degrees outside, I can still feel cold after spending a bit of time in restaurants...but anyways, I don't recall having an issue in the restaurants with the temperature, but I generally bring a very light jacket just in case I need it for my legs, like a blanket.

In years past, I used to always freeze in their restaurants, hotel lobbies, and some stores. It seems that in the last few years, the temperatures have been a little warmer.

I'm the same way! :goodvibes

I live in Hawaii and always get cold quick in AC. I brought a light-weight long sleeved shirt that I could wear inside AC. I only wore it once though, we went last July and it was so humid outdoors that I kind of appreciated the AC. I still bring a long sleeve no matter when or where I travel, just in case!

When we used to go in July I still took a light button up long sleeve shirt. I wore it in almost every restaurant and even some shows. The AC does feel good at first but after 30 minutes I want to be warm again! I was very glad I brought it even though I got dirty looks from my family. :rotfl:

Last August we went to Fultons at DTD and it was SOOOOOOOOO cold in there. There was a girl behind us who actually wrapped herself in the table cloth to keep warm.

I was actually glad to get outside again to get warm :rotfl:

Have to say that in all the years we've been going to WDW restaurants (mostly in early May and September) we've never noticed any place to be particularly cold. To us, it's a relief just to be in an air conditioned spot!!

I freeze in most restaurants in the summer - WDW or elsewhere. I carry a pashmina in my bag. It's small & light. It seems to be the perfect amount of coverage for too much AC. It also comes in handy for lots of other stuff throughout the day / evening.

we were in Disney last September when it was very hot and humid and found that the restaurants we ate in were cold because of the AC. I would bring a light jacket or something to keep you warm if you get cold easily.

I absolutely FROZE in Rose & Crown one time in Nov.:scared1: It was so cold I couldn't enjoy myself. I just wanted out of there. I was trying to "bundle up" with my napkin.

I hate that! I'm always cold in AC and restaurants even in cooler months have the AC cranked. Yes, I'm always cold but in the summer in WDW, it is very refreshing if the meal is fairly fast. If it's too long, I'm itching to get back outside! Brrrr, I'm cold right now cuz of the AC!

Restaurants generally keep the temp as low as possible becuase of a few studies that showed that people tend to eat more when they are cold. Some supermarkets do the same thing.

All I can see is when it's 95 and 90 percent humidity, I'm happy the restaurants are freezing. :) I thought the thread was going to ask if the restaurants were cool enough. :)

However, I understand your concern. :) Still, I don't mind being frozen a while, when it's so hot.

I would think they would keep the restaurants cold for the staff. I am sure it gets hot doing all that running around.

This reminds me of our very first trip to WDW in August, 99. Now being from Maine the cold doesn't bother me, 55 is my ideal temp. But we went to the Rainforest Cafe after having done Kali River Rapids, so of course we were still damp. They seated us right under the AC vent...and it occassionally dripped on me. :lmao: DSO ordered coffee just to warm up. We took it in stride, joking that we can manage to make anything a wet ride (because we managed to be in what was probably the only spot to get wet in the restaurant). Who'd have thought I'd freeze in Florida in too much air conditioning. :rotfl:

A few years back we went to Whispering Canyon for lunch. My DH who is always cold anyways was actually shivering. Servers went and got him a blanket and wrapped it around him (and he actually kept it on all though dining)
Being the place it was, there were a few Sitting Bull comments made, but he was warm and happy.
