Looking for advice on which would be better to do on our own. Traveling with husband, two 9 year olds and two grandparents. Any thoughts? Pros /cons? Alternatives from anyone that is familiar with St Thomas? Regards!

We haven't been for several years, but we chose Coki Beach over Magen's Bay. We chose it because it had lots of tropical fish (they sell dog biscuits to feed to the fish) and since the water is so clear my kids could see them without snorkeling. It was positively gorgeous and we don't regret our decision. We also looked at Sapphire Beach. I was afraid that Magen's would be overcrowded since most of the cruise ships go there and reviews I read said there weren't many fish. That could be a good thing or bad thing depending on your group.

I think either is pretty easy to get to. There are open air taxis waiting after you dock. There is a person at the taxi stand who will ask where you want to go and will point you to a taxi. 3-4 families (or more?) can fit so you will be with a group heading in the correct direction and possibly same destination.

We are leaning towards Coki beach. Thank you for taking the time to reply-I really appreciate it!

What about Lindquist beach? If you have seen the Direct TV talking horse commercials its the beach they filmed it on..... We like it alot
