I'm just sitting here enjoying a can of the new Coke C2.....and I like it!

I HATE diet coke, HATE diet Dr Pepper, HATE diet anything (including the icky diety taste of trident gum), so I reluctantly gave this a try.
It has 70 cals for a 12 oz can, 18g sugar/carbs (regular Coke has 39g of sugar)

So I guess I successfully cut some of my sugar intake! ;)

and it also makes a great "Happy Coke" (+rum)
My new medicine of choice........HC2!!! (Happy C2!):drinking1 LOL

I think it's admirable that they cut the carbs and calories....

But anyone watching calories or carbs isn't going to waste what little calories and carbs they are allowed on the newest incarnation from Coke.

I hope they keep it around so you can have it, but I think this may be short lived, IMHO.

DH is on Adkins and the thing he misses most is Coke. I bought him an 8 pack of the C2, but he thought it still had too many carbs.

They were giving this away at the Beach Boys concert tonight and I thought it was great. I'm not on the Atkins diet but I'm definetly making the switch, it's almost better than regular Coke and half the ridiculousness. Definetly worth it. Tastes almost like regular Pepsi.

I also tried Pepsi Edge and it was alright, not as good as C2. This is strange b/c it uses sucralose which I usually like much more than nutrasweet, but in this rare instance the nutrasweet won out.

Your husband is RIGHT! My son picked up a bottle in Kroger the other day, turned it over and announced..."Mom it has EIGHTEEN carbs per serving!!"

That's more than half the carbs we have per day!

I guess this is Coke's way to lure in those who are not really seriously low carbing and looking to cut the sugar, but a little sugar just begs for more.

It's not too bad....:D

I like it as well.

I was in Kroger last weekend when they were offering samples of C2 and tried it. To me the difference in taste is small but C2 still tastes as good as Coke Classic.

It might be short-lived, but I hope it isn't.

I tried it and while I agree it is better than diet Coke, I still didn't like it. I think it was a mouth feel issue--it still *feels* like diet coke on my tongue, even though it tastes more like regular Coke.

My dd loves it. My SO says it's flat, but he says it's pretty good. He says it doesn't leave the nasty aftertaste diet drinks seem to leave.:) I haven't tried it yet.

Huh.. I love it. I never thought it was meant to capitalize on the low carb craze, I just thought it was to provide a less sugary choice to the mix.

That is what I like it for. I don't like sodas that are overly sweet - that is why I don't like Pepsi - it's like drinking caramel colored sugar!

It is giving a good balance to those people not on Atkins or South Beach but just want to cut back on sugar and don't want to go the route of all the sugar substitutes.

I'm hoping it lasts! ::yes:: It's not like they are billing it "low carb" - just less sugar less carbs

Ditto!::yes::

Still too much aftertaste for me

I'm trying my first one as we speak. It's not nearly as bad as I thought! I'm down to one coke a day anyways, and if it cuts back on carbs & sugar, even better! It's better than a regular coke!

So far so good!

Just a question, if you have the ingredient list handy. Does it really have sugar in it, or is it high fructose corn syrup?
Thanks.

I haven't tried it but my DH is boycotting C2 because the delivery guy at his office took the Diet COke out of the office machine and replaced it with C2. He's boycotting to bring back his beloved Diet Coke.

I am a Coke lover. Tried my first one today and think it is great. I also am down to 1 coke a day and if I can get 1/2 the sugar that is fine by me. I think the 1st ingredient was high frctose corn syrup.

Down to one soda a day here, so I plan on giving this a try.

I'm cutting out as much High Fructose Corn Syrup as I can. Now that all the flavored waters are out, I've been drinking those quite a bit. Eventually, I hope that just plain water will taste okay enough to drink tons of it-so far, no luck!

They started carrying the C2 at the Barnies in my mall, and the girls were laughing at the people getting the 'low carb' C2, along with a tasty pastry. Hello, those have LOTS of carbs, hee hee!

Yeah, it may not be low carb, but for people like me who aren't on the Atkins bandwagon, and drink 5-6 cokes per day, every little bit helps.

I'm going to try it, but I HATE diet drinks with a passion. I only drink whole milk, only drink sweet tea, etc. I don't have high hopes.

I just say an ad in the supermarket flyer. They are packing it in an 8 pack and charging $2.50 for that. A 12 pack of coke is $2.99. Guess I will stick with Diet Pepsi.

I tried it and thought it was okay...not great, but okay. I have been doing this myself for quite a while now at self-serve soda fountains. Just mix 1/2 regular Coke with 1/2 Diet Coke and to me that still tastes better than C2 in the can/bottle.
