So, I'm sure this is a FAQ, but I didn't find The answers I was looking for when I did a search...

I read that you can order a carafe of coffee late night and it will still be hot in the morning. But, I really like milk in my coffee - should I get an ice bucket (I'm assuming that would be possible) and a little carton of milk? Also, can I bring sweetener on board?

Coffee is very important to me and will make for a much better vacay! ;)

I'm the same way....I NEED my coffee in the morning and also like milk.. From what I read there is a small fridge in the rooms (I could be wrong where this is our first cruise!!!) So I was planning on ordering the coffee at night asking for milk and telling the kids to keep their hands off.. lol

I get milk from my breakfast. I bring a couple back when needed. The fridge works great. have your kids bring some back also so they don't drink your milk.

There is a fridge in every room. Perfect for keeping the milk cold. You can order the milk from room service with your coffee or just get some cartons at breakfast buffet.

There is an ice bucket and fridge in the room. The ice bucket must be filled by your room attendant though because there are no ice machines accessible by you other than the drink stations. There are a few varieties of sweetners, Sugar, blue pack and yellow pack I believe.

Silly me - for some reason I was thinking they did NOT have fridges in the room.

We were supposed to take a DCL four years ago, and I was super-prepared! Then we had to cancel one month beforehand because my father was diagnosed with cancer (they were going to keep the kids for us). This time I feel so scattered with my preparation and planning...

Great question! I was wondering the same thing. I can NOT function in the morning without my coffee..

You can also get an ice bucket delivered from room service in case you don't see your stateroom attendant.

We also bring a box of the little flavored creamers on board in our carry on. My wife loves hazelnut coffee so that does the trick for her. I love my peppermint mocha cream but they don't have those in the little non refrigerated versions.

Fair warning...the coffee on DCL is NASTY! Cove Cafe, is another matter, but I could not stand the coffee from room service or from Deck 11. It was ok from the dining rooms, so they must brew it different or use another kind?? Dh, liked it...it has a very bold flavor. :crazy2: Good thing to bring flavored creamer, I may try that this next time.

Sorry, prices might be a little small, but this is the menu from Cove Cafe:

Is Cove Cafe the menu that is listed above? I'm a twice per day Starbucks girl..so I'm ok with a strong brew.

Yes, the menu listed above is from Cove Cafe. If you like your coffee strong, you will probably like their coffee then! :)

You can also get a coffee card to Cove Cafe or Vista and every 6th(?) coffee is free? I think after you purchase 5, your next one is free ... someone on here can confirm I'm sure :-)

Do I do that once on board, or can be pre purchased?

I like Starbucks, but never got a coffee that I would call "good" from the Cove Cafe. I know the popular opinion is that the Cove Cafe is wonderful, but I only ever managed to get something which was just acceptable. I am a cappuccino girl myself, no sugary syrups in my coffee. The cappuccinos from the Cove generally had a very thin foam (not a thick, creamy one) and a very thin coffee taste, while at the same time being rather bitter. My sister who is much more a coffee aficionado said that she reckons that the problem is that they have these fancy high end coffee machines, but don't train the people properly on how to use them.

I had a few of the holiday special coffees from the cove; they were a nice treat. I like my coffee strong, and in contrast to many on the boards, I loved my daily carafe of coffee delivered to my room. It was a perfect wake-up call for me and never disturbed the rest of the room. (I also had pastries, milk, and fruit delivered as well) I even enjoyed the coffee on the pool deck.

I like the new Joffrey's coffee. Much better than the old Nescafe they used to have in my opinion.
