We are staying at ASMo next month. I want to bring a coffee pot with me. Any suggestions on what model and how to pack it to survive the flight?

Just a suggestion.... Call the hotel before going down there and ask them to give you one of there room coffee pots for your stay... This way your not spending the extra money and you wont have to worry about it breaking during travel.

Do the value resorts have coffee pots available??? I thought they didn't. That would definitely be a lot easier.

I saved an old coffee pot that works, but I hate, for the trip. I figured I'd just get rid of it rather than bring it back.

I'm going to Walmart to buy one. They have some cheapo brand like Durobrand. It's a drip coffee maker and cost $9.00. I'm just leaving it there when we leave. As long as the water get hot, who cares.

When we stayed at POP, I bought a 4 cup Mr Coffee from Target for abt 14...it was fine cause I left it in the box it came in....It actually began the swap there until it was lost recently....:(

The allstars do not have a coffee pot in thier room (except for the suites) but I was at the Sports one a few years back and a friend of mine couldnt live w/o her coffee... She called the front desk and they had one sent to our room.... I dont know if this was because there were only two adults in the room but she got it and it wasnt a problem.

There are no coffee pots offered in the value resorts. When we stayed at Allstars Music we bought one from the local Wal-Mart and left it in the room. My only hope was that the coffee pot was put to good use after we checked out of the room.

If you live near a Wegmans, check out their coffee aisle for "Wegman's Traditional Coffee Singles." It's real coffee, not instant, but it works just like a tea bag. Let it steep in a cup of hot water for approx. 5 minutes, longer for stronger, less for weaker. I LOVE my morning coffee. And, this tastes pretty good.

Of course... still didn't consider how to get hot water... oops, maybe this is pointless! I think I need to go get a cup of coffee. lol.

To the poster who mentioned a french press... how do ya' get your water hot enough?

We're driving down and I plan to bring my Senseo machine w/the pods I need (DH doesn't drink coffee). I hope it doesn't disturb our neighbors when I run the thing- It's pretty loud!

Hot pot. We use it for everything. My coffee, his tea and hot chocolate, oatmeal in the mornings, Emergen-C. I'm thinking of adding cups of couscous and the like next time around. I tend to pack an extra suitcase of just food stuffs, it saves us alot of money, especially on breakfast. Hot pots don't break, and my french press is a cheap plastic one.

For suger, stirrers, napkins, spoons, etc...I slowly accumilate them over the year from different establisments that we get take out from.
