I read these are pod type coffee makers. Is this very strong coffee? Is there a type we can bring with us and use instead of using the supplied one? Thanks for you help.:thumbsup2:goodvibes

It depends on who makes the pods. We used them in 2012 and it was not strong coffee. I would recommend you try google for an answer. If I remember, not many companies make these type of pods.

It's Joffrey's brand coffee. I believe it's the same stuff at the food courts. I find it to be a bit weak for me, but it's better than no coffee in the morning!

I am not sure if every resort has the same coffee makers or the same coffee pods. I know Joffrey's does most of the Disney coffee but I really can't remember if the pods I had at CSR were from them or not. I can tell you the coffee I was able to make in the room at CSR was in no way strong.

From what I've gathered all resorts with coffee maker have the pod style except that DVC units have drip units (think Mr. Coffee). In 2012 I think they had Cuisinart pods at AKL.

We were at akl last week and POFQ now. Both had Joffreys French bistro pods. I would think any pods would work if you have a favorite.

We like strong coffee and have never liked any of the pods or K-cups that we have gotten at Disney. I buy the pods from Coffee For Less. If you enjoy really good coffee, try the Aloha Island King's Reserve dark roast pods. They are as good as the French press coffee at Kona.

Thanks very much for all the info we usually use medium or light riadt breskfast coffee. So hopefully we will b okay. We are staying at AoA.

Another way to deal with this common hotel problem is my mother just heats the water using the pot and uses Starbucks Via instant coffee instead. She likes it better than both the pods and the foodcourt coffee. I know many will never drink instant coffee but honestly I know several coffee drinkers who would rather have great quality instant to low quality, weak regular coffee.
