Coffee packs? (Long)

We leave in less than two weeks for a multi-resort stay with various members of our family, and have no idea how many coffee packs to take, if we need to take any at all. I'll try to explain the itineray, and you can suggest whether we'll be covered sufficiently by housekeeping. First my wife and I have four mornings in a VWL studio with our grandson who does not yet drink coffee. Then our son, DIL and grandaughter arrive. They'll be in a studio, as will we for another 3 mornings. Among the new arrivals, only our son is a coffe drinker. Then all six of us move to a 2 bedroom villa at BWV (our first non-studio unit ever in our 5 years of membership!) for 4 days. The three late arrivals then go home, and we finish the trip with our grandson in a BCV studio for 3 days. Will we be able to get enough coffee from housekeeping for 3 coffee-drinkers? (Only our son and wife and I drink it) We only have two cups each in the morning, and none at all any other time of day. How much does it cost to purchase additional packs from housekeeing if we need them?

Housekeeping provides the initial pack (one) of coffee and decaf in the rooms. Additional packs are available from housekeeping for purchase. You mention how many mornings, but not sure if you are there that many nights. If you are there 4 nights, then the fourth day would be your trash and towel day. If you are there three nights, you will not have the trash and towel. Trash and towel day will provide a new pack of coffee for you.

I would say you will definitely need to bring or buy coffee. Here is some information on purchasing additional coffee through housekeeping, or additional trash and towel service.

I believe Maxwell house sells a box of about 10 coffee and filters all in one for under $4.00. You could just pick up one of these ahead of time and bring it in your suitcase. We have done this before.

Last week I stayed at BCV for 5 nights. We did not get a coffee pack refill on T&T day. I called housekeeping who told me that you only get the initial pack at check-in and have to pay for extras. Not sure if this something new (we always got a refill in the past) or if the housekeeping staff is having their own coffee party in the break room.

Anyway, in the end I think it's easier to bring your own baggie of coffee and filters. That way you can also make a pot w/ 2-3 cups, not the whole 12 cup which is what you have to do with those pre-packed filter pods.

We haven't received any replenishments on T&T day for a while now. I simply chalked it up to inept housekeeping, but maybe that's the new policy now. We usually buy a bag of Dunkin' Donuts coffee to bring with us anyway since we don't care for the "free" coffee in the rooms.

You might want to post the dates you are going to be in each DVC hotel. If I was staying at your hotel right before or during your stay I would leave my coffee for you since I don't drink it. The suggestion to bring a little with you is also a good one.

I always bring the Maxwell House coffee that comes "preassembled." It's a lot easier than bringing loose coffee and the basket type filters.

Our Kroger's have these little bags of Millstone or their Private Selection brand, plus I have a stash of basket filters(just for DVC).

I always tip as well, and am usually "thanked" by the housekeeping staff with extras, including towels and 2-3 boxes of laundery soap and coffee. This time I thought they forgot or something so I went to the cart in the hallway to get it myself (no mousekeepers in sight) and couldn't even find it on there. Maybe too many extras were disappearing and DVC is holding tighter to the inventory. I'm fine with the sticking to the rules if this is the new policy (member dues, etc), just need to plan ahead. The very nice mousekeeping person did take the time straigthen up the lock-off portion of the 2 b/r where 4 teen girls were staying, including making beds; when I found that out I figured it was still mousekeeping's way of saying thank-you for the tip (I left some $ in both rooms).

I'd be interested to hear anyone else's T&T experience lately, including which resort. We were at BCV last week.

DIS Happy, try leaving a note next time with the tip requesting the extra coffee, if you need some. Still works fine for me. That is great that they made the beds on Trash n Towel day for you! They do keep the supplies such as coffee, soaps etc under lock and key on the supply carts. I have seen toilet paper still loose on them though, lol.

We bring a tupperware of ground coffee, another of sugar, Mr. Coffee filters and buy half and half (though its often out of stock and we end up with whole milk) when we arrive. We then pack the tupperware back home.

Its the only time all year where my husband has the coffee ground when he buys it.

The hotel coffee isn't to our taste. Neither is Maxwell House. Yes, we are coffee snobs. And with a shortage of decent coffee at WDW in general, we have to have something decent over a week.

We were at OKW at the end of April/beginning of May and on T&T day they replenished all of our coffee supplies as well as toiletries. I was pleasantly surprised by this as I wasn't expecting it. I thought if we wanted extras, we would have to pay for them.

We're heading down next week and we are packing our coffee pot! Yes, the Cuisinart one that grinds the beans. We had the old one with a glass coffee pot but for some reason someone gave us a new one with a stainless thermos-like pot that is unbreakable, so we'll be bringing it.

The only thing I'm worried about is that in the TV shows they always use coffee to hide the smell of drugs, and I think the airport dogs are trained to smell the coffee! So we'll see!

ITA. The coffee situation at WDW is deplorable at best. I took my own this time, bought half & half at the resort, and was able to get my fix every morning. It's not a vacation if the coffee is bad!

I never use the coffee that comes in the villas. It is nasty!
I always bring my own with filters. Yet I don't mind the coffee that they serve at Roaring Forks at VWL

I agree that the coffee from housekeeping is just awful I don't know how anyone drinks it. I plan on bringing a pound of ground Starbucks coffee down with us. In the grand scheme things it costs almost nothing and it is sooo much better than what you get from housekeeing.
