Anyone know if there are coffee makers in the rooms at the YC? If so, do they provide the coffee & filters, etc. for a cost? I'm just thinking "lazy" here - not wanting to walk over to Beaches & Creams every morning for a cup of coffee..... :)

When my DH and I were there last Sept., there was no coffee maker in the room. Maybe things have changed since last year. I hope so because we'll be there again this Sept. and I would love fresh coffee when I wake up!

Threeboysmom, I have only stayed at the YC once and that was in a suite (so it had a coffee maker). I did just now check the WDW YC website and found the following info:

Guest Rooms

These rooms feature two queen-size beds, table and chairs, ceiling fan, minibar, private balcony, vanity area with two sinks, and bath. Many Guest Rooms feature water views. Non-smoking and disabled-accessible rooms are available.

Guest Room amenities include in-room wall safe, voice mail, data port on phone, television speaker and phone in bath area, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, refrigerator (upon request), and minibar.

Since a coffee maker is not listed, you might be able to request one from Housekeeping anyway. Good luck.

Unfortunately I have not been able to even request a coffee maker at the BC or YC, they were not available. Unless things have changed lately they just do not have them at all.

WebmasterMichelle, that is so weird that a "deluxe" resort does not offer coffee makers as an "option" and yet a "moderate" resort offers them as a "standard:"

Oh, Disney, why are you so frustrating sometimes?! ;)

We stayed there last September and we did request a coffee maker and get it! I'm one of those coffee drinker who MUST have a hot cup the minute I roll out of bed. I always bring my own coffee and filters and creme (I keep it in a small cooler). My husband and I are the pickiest of all coffee drinkers so we must have it strong!

Thank you! That's weird that one person can request a coffee maker & get one, and another can request it and not get one.... Maybe they were all out??? I'll pack my filters & coffee just in case...... I'm with you Janet2K - the deluxes should really have coffee makers as a standard in each room. But oh well - Disney likes to keep us on our toes, that's for sure! :)

We've stayed at YC twice and requested (and received) a coffee maker both times. I would always make the request with my reservation - but there has never been one in my room. I just call mousekeeping as soon as we get to the room and request a coffee maker to be brought over - then go to the parks and low and behold - it is there when we get back.

I too like my coffee before facing the public. I bring my own coffee, filters - and WATER! WDW water really makes coffee taste nasty!

We've stayed at the YC and they have always had coffee for free in the lobby. Granted you must go early in the morning (before 8 or so) but never the less, the coffee is there, it's free and you dont have to make it yourself. The only drawback is that you have to get dressed to get it.

Wow! I didn't know about the free coffee in the lobby - thanks for the great tip!! :)
