Coffee machine questions?

Hi everyone. Our first DVC stay will be in May. I know there are coffee makers in the rooms. We will be staying in a studio at BCV. Is it a regular coffee maker with filters and what not? I was planning on bringing coffee with us for our trip. If it's a regular coffeemaker do I need to bring filters or do they provide those? TIA.

I would bring the flat bottom 10 cup Mr. Coffee type filters.

Hi, I just returned from a stay at SSR studio room.The studio had a 12 cup coffee maker in it. I had brought my own ground coffee and coffee filters for a 10-12 pot coffee maker. Also in the room were coffee pods (coffee enclosed in its own filter) containing Joffrey's coffee. I used one of these one morning with 8 cups of water and it made a decent cup of coffee. . Joan

As coffee "connoisseurs", we highly recommend filtered water or good bottled water. Bad tasting water makes bad tasting coffee!

Which is exactly why we take our Keurig, our own coffee and grinder, and go to the Super Target on 192 just as soon as we get there to get beer and water.

DH & I are brand new DVC members and our home resort is BCV. We will be staying exclusively in a studio and my understanding is that a 4-cup drip style coffee maker is provided.

I realize that we can request mousekeeping to bring us the larger coffee maker (if available) but if not, has anyone used the single serve coffee pods in the 4-cup (the tea bag type pods that you would use in the Cuisinart machine at CBR)?

I would assume that a 4-cup pot only makes enough coffee for 2 adults. My "plan" would be to use 2 pods per pot rather than bringing down filters and ground coffee. Plus, we have a bunch of these pods left over from our last trip!!

Any advice is most appreciated...thank you!

That's what we do.

We like a Hawaiian blend that comes in pods and we bring a bunch of those with us. Usually put 2 in the pot at a time. much easier than grounds with filters.

I have to agree with the bottled water for the coffee as the water there is horrible. We used our coffee maker to heat the water for our french press.

We feel the french press gives the best coffee over a auto machine.

That would probably work. We do not own at BCV, but have stayed in a studio there a couple of times and each time we only had the 4 cup pot. I thought it odd though because the coffee packets provided when you first check in were for the full size pots, so completely useless.

Thanks Laura! My neighbor has a 4-cup drip machine (leftover dorm room appliance) and is letting me borrow it this weekend. We are going to use the single serve pods and brew a few "test" pots this weekend...

Boy who would have thought a coffee maker would have had so many responses. Having said that, we use the pre-mixed and sealed filtered packets from Folgers. It makes I think 6 cups. We use them because you do not need to worry about spillage during travel and they are just easy to use...smjj
