Coffee in WDW....yuck!

Unless they serve FRENCH Roast there, it's Nescafe. The CM I talked to said some of the coffee carts have real coffee, but the safe place for real coffee is the Kona Cafe, and now the CBR.

I just got back from the Dolphin and they had strong, real coffee in Tubby's, the cafeteria downstairs at the Dolphin. I bought the reusable mug and refilled, often. Delicious! Got me going on those chilly post-Christmas mornings.

I also saw that on one of the urns, there was a little sign that said "We use Starbucks coffee" or something to that effect.

FWIW, Swan & Dolphin policies are a little different, as the hotels are owned by Starwood (I believe they're Westin/Sheraton). For example, refillable mug holders could only be refilled with coffee or soda - no tea, hot chocolate or soda slushies, as you're allowed in some of the other Disney properties. But as I said, the coffee made it worthwhile....

POR had the Nescafe coffee. That is were we first realized what they were doing. We wathced them put the concentrate in. They also stopped a while ago having milk at there self serve. Those were the days. I guess that got way too expense. It was nice while it lasted.

Annette, I had to tell you we returned from CBR Sat. and they have horrible instant tasting coffee. DH was so mad he wanted to return his mug. I got the iced tea once and it was soooo bad I drank nothing but my bottled water and coke all week. DH went and bought coffee to make in the room. He asked all the servers at restaurants about the coffee before ordering. Chefs of France had good coffee.

I don't think the CM meant the refill coffee for the mugs. There supposedly is a cart in the Food Court that has the Jamaican Blue....
Just in case, I'm packing my OWN coffee in Feb!!!!! I will NOT subject myself to instant CRAP!!!!!!!

Unfortunately they changed the coffee in the summer of 2001 to instant everywhere! There was a thread runing then that quoted a CM saying it was a cost saving measure. We loved their coffee in th past and were surprised how well it tasted, now for lack of a better description, it SUCKS!

We are DVC members now, so have real coffee in our rooms, but before we bought in, I would pack a 4cup coffee maker and MH filter packs for that first cup or two in the mornings. Then I could stand any coffee I got later since I'd already had "good" coffee. Of course it helps that I like lots of cream and sugar in mine. It hides a multitude of sins;)

Is there anyone at WDW that I could contact to get a listing of EVERY PLACE on the WDW property that serves REAL coffee, not instant?

This must me some kind of communist plot to get coffee drinkers to drink sugar water, errrr.... Coca Cola.

Annette

"Mr. Eisner, break down that wall and let Starbucks in!!" LOL!!!:Pinkbounc
