Coffee in Cabanas

I have sailed DCL a few times. I usually get the regular coffee with my breakfast in Cabanas, then go to the Cove Cafe later for a specialty coffee. I was just watching a walkthrough of the Dream and someone stopped at the bar in Cabanas and ordered a coffee. Do they sell specialty coffees there? I've never thought about checking there before. Thanks!

I saw that in cabanas on the fantasy, so I’m sure they do on the dream.

Yes, they have specialty coffees in the back of Cabana's on the Dream.

To be perfectly honest, DW and I have called it "swill". And we're being kind. However, at 6AM when my body is demanding it's caffeine fix, it'll do. With LOTS of creamer

We like to bring the freeze dried one shots from Starbux. Much better alternative
Yeah it's pretty... bad. Went on a 5 day cruise on Dream. First morning, coffee was acceptable-ish. Second morning, less so. By the third day, it was completely undrinkable and I went to Cove Cafe. Met a woman there who has a theory that they make the coffee progressively worse each day to increase sales at Cove. Can't say I disagree.

I am not a black/strong coffee drinker but I also feel like the coffee on DCL tastes more and more like water with a hint of coffee as the week goes on. The sbux freeze dried packets is an interesting idea for our next sailing. I don’t mind splurging at Cove in the afternoons but the specialty drinks are too sweet for me at 7AM.

Does Cove have a plain coffee? I got cold brew one day but it was sitting in plain sight and I never asked what else they had. I'm also not a huge fan of sweet specialty drinks all the time.

DH gets Americano…that’s not sweet or anything.

I guess I'll have to do some research into the various espresso-based options with no flavoring and minimal dairy. Or find a tiny non-breakable French press.
You would enjoy an Americano. It is espresso and hot water. Very similar to a standard cup of coffee. Or a plain latte with non-dairy milk for something creamy.

I know I am in the minority, but I really don’t like the coffee at Cove Cafe - or other locations on the ships with specialty coffee. They have fancy machines, but I think the baristas aren’t properly trained on them. So the result mostly isn’t good. The only place where the coffee is really good are Palo and Remy.
