Every dollar we save by not going to coffee houses goes into our Disney funds!!

Lets compile a list of recipes for coffee-house inspired recipes that won't break the bank.

I'll start:

Easy Iced Coffee
4 cups fresh coffee
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup white sugar or Splenda
3 cups crushed ice
1/2 cup cream, half and half, or fat free half and half, depending on how good you want to be :rotfl:

Chill coffee for half an hour or so, then add vanilla, sugar and cream. Add ice. Pour into glasses and enjoy! You can make a pitcher of this and store in fridge. I like iced coffee even in the winter. My papa used to drink iced coffee...a cool glass of it always reminds me of him. My papa loved Disney World more than anyone I know!

Let's share our recipes!

I used to get all fancy and brew my own espresso, then heat and froth my own milk, precise measurements, etc....

Now I just make a cup with the Keurig, add a shot of flavored syrup and some milk and call it a latte. :rotfl: Not quite as good as when I put the time into, but sometimes you just need coffee NOW. :lmao:

Skinny Pumpkin Spice Coffee
I use Vanilla flavored coffee
add skim milk to taste
add "pumpkin spice creamer" to taste (available by Carnation or at Aldi's)
add 2 splenda packets
stir together, then sprinkle ground cinammon on top (I don't mix the cinammon in, but let it sit on top).

Starbucks charges $5.08 for a large/venti size of their Pumpskin Spice Latte so I feel great making this at home everyday!

Any recipes for a gingerbread latte like Starbucks? I love them.

I found this mock recipe, including the syrup. I'm going to have to give it a try:

Gingerbread Syrup
2 cups water
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup fresh espresso
8 ounces milk, steamed (with a little foam)

Garnish
whipped cream
ground nutmeg

Recipe

1. Make the gingerbread syrup by combining water, sugar, ginger, cinnamon and vanilla in a medium saucepan. Be sure the pan is not too small or the mixture could easily bubble over.
2. Bring mixture to a boil then reduce heat and simmer syrup, uncovered, for 15 minutes. Remove the syrup from the heat when it's done and slap a lid on it.
3. Make a double shot of espresso (1/2 cup), using an espresso machine. Use the machine to steam 8 ounces of milk, or heat up the milk in themicrowave if your machine does not foam and steam milk.
4. Make your latte by first adding 1/2 cup espresso to a 16-ounce cup. Add 1/4 cup gingerbread syrup, followed by the steamed milk. Stir.
5. Top off the drink with a dollop of whipped cream, and a sprinkle of nutmeg

Cafe Caramel

Caramel Ice cream topping
Brewed Coffee
Whipped cream
Chocolate shavings

Put caramel at the bottom of the cup to taste (start with a tablespoon)
Add brewed coffee and half and half
Stir
Add whipped cream and chocolate shavings.................YUM

I used to work at the Coffee Beanery when I was younger and this was my favorite!

Also
Cafe Diablo

Half brewed coffee and half hot chocolate, add whip cream on top (great for gas station coffee fix if they have the hot chocolate machines) or you can use ovaltine :) at home

Another variation, add a touch of orange extract to above :worship:

Anyone have an alternative to the pumpkin spice creamer? Can you use just pumpkin spice? I'm not a fan of the pumpkin spice creamer powder. But I looove the pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks, hate the $5.75 pricetag.
