Codes vs. travel agents?

I used to be a travel agent with a MAJOR agency, so I can affirm familiarity breeds contempt! Nevertheless, we had the best deals around for packages. Even now, I book trhough them. I never had any need for discount codes.

HOWEVER, I see all these threads about 40% off & so on - how does one get these emails? I scrolled through what felt like a hundred threads to see if I could find the info, but I can't.

They are random emails (pin codes) sent specifically to the client. The client can then either book directly through Disney or book through their travel agent using the pin code. The pin code cannot be used with any other than the name on it. There is a thread on the demographics of theis 40% code. I can tell you in going to Disney about 2x-3x a year for many years we've only gotten a pin code about 3 times.
You can also call DIsney to see if there are any pin codes attached to you phone number. Sometimes your junk mail may not let certain advertising through.

So if Disney had my email address they might be sending me PINs? I don't think I ever gave them my email address.
