I am toying with the idea of doing a one-way car rental for our next cruise. We usually use a towncar, but I'd like to bum around town the day before so I'm thinking of renting a car to go to the port and then taking Happy Limo back. I went through Hotwire to get prices from Budget and Avis (it automatically puts in a discount code), but the prices seemed pretty high. It has to be one of those two, since they have a free shuttle to Port Canaveral. Any code suggestions for a one-day, one-way rental code would be appreciated!

Barb - do you belong to Costco or BJs or one of those? I don't have the coupons anymore, but that's what I used last year when we cruised and I used Avis to get us from the port back to Orlando. Sorry I can't be more help, but if you don't belong, let me know and I'll grab some when I make my weekend pilgrimage!

BTW - I paid about $50 or $60 for the day, but got a big honkin' car (some Buick thing ...) for the 3 of us bc I was worried about having all the luggage fit in the trunk and not wanting to leave it in plain view on the back seat while we were shopping or at a restaurant. You may not feel like you need that much vehicle for the 2 of you.

Most coupons have minimums of either 3 days, for a weekend rental or 7 days for a weekly rental.
As to codes, I would go to www.mousesavers.com and check on them there.

Yeah, I figured I might not get anything for a one-day rental. Usually I do the best on priceline for one or two days, but with a one-way Bill Shatner and the Supercomputer won't help me :jester:
We don't have a Costco nearby, but I do occasionally impersonate a co-worker at Sam's, so I'll have to see if they have anything.

I'll look at BJs when I am there this weekend, and if I find something, I'll PM you.

I am using a one day one way rental to get to and from Tampa airport to disney in Jan. and I got $23 for one day and $33 for the other. Full size car using National and those prices include all taxes and i guess the price difference is just because I am picking up one at the airport and the other from the Dolphin hotel. But still I was happy with my prices.

might try national or try Dollar. I had a van booked with Dollar for $45 a day total each way for a total of $90 but i was switched to National and saved $34.00 for full size. Also some of the places charge a $20 drop off fee for returning it to a different location!
