DW and I are off very soon and I was thinking that it's time we did a cocktail tour around the lakeside hotels. Last time we attempted this we did not get very far, we started in the Red Garter Saloon and never left :rotfl2:

So the plan is to start off at the Rio Grande Bar in the Santa Fe, the into the Redwood Bar in the SL then a walk down to the Fisherman's Wharf Bar in NBC, then along the lake to the New York City Bar in HNY then finaly to the Red Garter Saloon at the Cheyenne.

We are going for a meal in the California Grill one evening so are bound to end up in the Fantasia bar in the DHL after that.

So the question is what cockails can anyone recommend?

What fun! pixiedust: We planned on doing this once and never left Cafe Fantasia! :rotfl2: Although I'm such a lightweight I'd be ending up on soft drinks after the second cocktail!

At Cafe Fantasia I don't think you can beat the Blue Glow Tini, it definitely tastes better there than anywhere else!

Last summer we had an Insouciance at both the Newport Bay and Hotel New York. I loved it at NPB but wasn't so impressed with it at HNY. Depends on the barman, I suppose. I think it was created for the 20th celebrations?

Also had a Black Pearl at the NPB - it was gorgeous. :goodvibes

You've reminded me that I haven't posted about these on the cocktail thread  not have I done any food reviews  nor finished my trip report  and we've been back six months.

Great idea. We meant to have one drink at each bar but we only ended up doing Cheyenne, Sequoia and DLH (Although we only had cocktails with our meal at inventions rather than Fantasia Bar). Everywhere was out of glowcubes apart from at Inventions which was a shame! I did notice that a lot of the 20th anniversary cocktails werent on the menu anymore (light and colours etc)

What an AWESOME idea! DF ( I think that's the right term for fiancee?!) are heading there in a couple of weeks. I'm checking out the park times and thinking 20:00 kick-out is pretty early so plenty of time to go "touring"!

We're staying at SL so immediate suggestions I suppose will be SL, NBH & NYH. If you're there the same time as us we may see you en route, if not I look forward to hearing how you get on :thumbsup2

When my friend and I went a few years back we had planned to do this - but after a long day of walking and one cocktail in HNY we couldn't manage any more!

This is definitely on my 'to do' list for my next adults only trip! :thumbsup2
