Coats Needed In September??!

I am wondering if we should carry a coat for my three-year old into the parks in a backpack? I'm thinking that it might be chilly inside restaurants and shows. Does anyone have an opinion? I would rather not carry it, but I would hate for her to be freezing in her shorts and t-shirt if the AC is turned up too high.

I sincerely doubt she'll need it, but then if it does rain and she gets wet, it will be chilly for her.

In the evening, and also depending upon where you are seated in restaurants and the like, it can be chilly too.

Maybe not a coat but a sweatshirt?

Our last trip was in late Sept. and it was very hot and humid. I would not worry about the coat all the restaurants were very comforable and a great place to rest.

My nine year old always complains about being cold in the restaurants...I personally don't feel it...... she has surely turned into a FL CHILD in the three years we have lived here!

Like someone else said - a light sweater or sweatshirt - but certainly not a coat!

because it still rains in the afternoons in Sept, i usually carry one of those thin, nylon-type of jackets for my daughters. they roll up into a very small ball (some of them even come in a little pocket) and can be used either for rain or if it gets cold in an air-conditioned building.

we usually go in October and I carry a sweatshirt for my kids b/c they get chilly in the A/C. Sometimes they'll need one at night as well.

I still leave for work in short sleeves in my convertible every morning. It's still HOT here. Like others suggested, maybe something really lightweight--or just a long sleeved t-shirt she could throw on if she gets chilled.

We've noticed that WDW doesn't cool restaurants nearly as much as they used to.

I bring a sweater/sweatshirt for mine when we go in August! Those restaurants are cold, but outside you should be fine in September.

Now one time in October a cold front came through and we ended up having to buy fleece jackets for the kids. We live in Florida and should have known better but sometimes the chilly weather sneaks up on you.

We're not taking anything, since we're expecting it to be hot. If we do need a sweatshirt or long-sleeved shirt for indoors, we're planning on getting sweatshirts there, one of their souvies.

We've travelled a lot in September and have never needed a coat. It is always HOT! I have always brought a light jacket just in case but have never needed it yet.

No coat needed. Wal-mart has some nice kids poncho's in different colors that botton up the front and have a hood. They appear to be much better quality than the dollar store and do roll up into a little bag it comes with for $3. If it rains you will need something like this but we never found the rest. to be cold. It is so hot outside I think the restaurants are a nice break from the heat.

I will be taking a lightweight sweater for DD 14 mo. just to use in restaurants. We are leaving on Saturday, suppose to be in upper 80's during the day & low 70's at night so I don't think a coat would be needed.

we were there the last week of sept last year and it was sweltering.

before we left my sister asked if she should pack a jacket. i told her no, she resisted. i told her i would BUY here one down there if she felt she needed one. i didn't end up spending a dime LOL.

You definately won't need a coat outside even at night. It's HOT, HOT, HOT, and HUMID!

I'm planning on bringing light rainjackets from my dkids, and a light sweater for inside but I'm pretty certain I won't need it.

I would say you are goign to be ok. If she gets cold in a show have her sit on your lap and give her a snuggle.
