I'm not a lover of coasters. Much prefering Disney's Big Thunder Mountain, Tower of Terror as my limit.
My thrill seeker troops. Well 2 of them love coasters and I don't mind trying them out at least once so that they get to try them.
Rock n roller coaster and DLP's Space Mountain are rides with inversions and cork screws in the dark.
What will USF and IOA throw at me :scared1:

Its not too bad. Dueling Dragons is pretty extreme compaired to WDW rides. But it is fun.

The Incredible Hulk LOOKS way worse than it really is. In reality, it is one of the smoothest, most fun coasters I have EVER been on. Just keep in mind when you see it: "It LOOKS outragiously scary, but is REALLY one of the most fun coasters you will ever ride." Its extremely smooth. It doesnt jar the heck out of you like some coasters do.

Otherwise, besides Dr. Doom's Fear Fall, I think you should be ok. Everything else is ride-able. You shouldnt have to worry too much.

Goodluck and have fun! :hippie:

i always suggest to people that are not familiar with the universal parks to go to this site:

http://www.universalorlando.com/amusement-parks/theme-park-overview.html

the interactive map for each park will give some basic info on the ride.

it is difficult to advise a newbie about coasters as we all perceive of them in different ways.

i can say that the drop on jurassic park river adventure is quite similar to the drop on splash mountain. JPRA has a 85 ft drop but is not a coaster ride, it is considered more of a water ride.

if you click on the highlights of the ride page, you will get more info about the ride, especially coasters.

Hulk has a quick shoot out just like RnR coasters does.

dueling dragons is unique for the fact the ice and blue coasters meet at one specific area on a loop. you can do both sides without leaving the building.

i enjoy the mummy ride at the studios as it has a story line to it.
the line to the ride starts the story, the ride completes it.

that coaster ride is done in the dark inside a building like RnR coaster.
only the last (maybe 90 second) of the mummy is a coaster ride. the beginning portion is going to different rooms in the coaster car.

Universal provides free lockers for riders as you can't take anything on the ride with you on the coasters.

if you are staying off site, be at the park at 8:30 to get a head start on the coasters. there are many times universal will open the turnstile around 8:30ish if the line is long to get in. the official opening time is 9:00

depending on the dates you are going, might be important for your group.

if you are going on a typical crowded day, go early so you can repeat the coasters.

if you need more info on coasters, post here.
i can pull up past threads on quite a few of them.

i try to mark certain threads as when summer is approaching, we receive many repeat questions on specific rides. some posts will talk about the ride itself and what was involved on it, others post a comparison to another ride, etc.

if you can read a combination of ride threads about the coasters, you will get different view points that may be of help to you and your group.
