Coaster Intensity / Drops

Hi all, I am off to Florida in Sept, when I was last there I rode Tron and Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic rewind, The Mummy, Hagrids (only ever been put in the final few cars so the spike drop was minimal) and Gringots all fine. I was hyped for them being a fan of both in their movies etc, but Rock N Rollercoaster was closed for a referb when I was there and so I couldn't attempt this one. I saw Everest, saw the drop out the mountain and bottled it due to a fear of exposed heights and that drop looked horrible.

I found Tron and Guardians fine and really enjoyable, but I feel RnRC may be a bit worse and have bigger steeper drops involved, I don't mind the idea of the inversions but the drops like on Everest freak me out for some reason, yet I did Tower of Terror and loved it as the drops are not the same. The Mummy had the biggest coaster style drop I have done (that I know of as i am sure Tron and Guardians don't have any massive drops as such) and on Hagrids I never got to rid from the middle forward.

My question is for a person who hates the idea of drops like on Everest which is visible and put me off, is RnRC worse than any of the rides I have conquered my fear with to date and much more intense, if so how much worse in your opinions than Tron and Guardians?

Thanks

RNRC doesn’t have big drops either it’s more twists and turns, because it’s enclosed in a building there’s not space for a big drop that’s why they have the initial fast launch it takes the place of a drop to get the momentum of the coaster train flying over the track.

Right. RnRC is basically a constant corkscrew with no hills or drops. It does launch fast, but otherwise is just twisty.

Oh cool thanks, so if it's more in line with Tron and Guardians with the addition of the inversions I will love it. I love the speed of the other two so assume this is the same basically, but I thought the inversions would lead to relatively high drops to get them back down to maintain speed

Oh ok thanks, so the inversions down go into drops as such but more long sweeping fast turns? Like on hagrids?

If its a combo of Hagrids, Tron, Guardians etc it's right up my street, whereas Everest, Hulk etc I am still trying to face the fear lol

It basically has spirals and should look like the below. I can't verify the accuracy of this since it's fan-made, but it feels right. There are 3 total inversions, two coming quickly after launch in a tight corkscrew, then it just whips around in banked, wavy circles until a final single corkscrew maneuver:

It has much more G-forces than Tron and Guardians (which has very and gives the opposite sensation) It's a fun coaster and I think you will be fine on it.

Thanks for that, looks like the steepest parts after the initial loops but thats not steep as such just out the loop and a long swallower drop to maintain speed over a steep sheer drop like on Everest

Does it really, is the launch similar, it's slower overall and Tron's launch is amazing, I love that (as well as the backwards on on Guardians)

Yes it has much more g-forces but the launch is very similar to Tron and Guardians. They don’t make you put your bags in a locker on RRC because if they are on the floor they won’t fly out even going upside down because the g-forces hold them in.

I find Guardians the most intense coaster I've ever been on. Everest is a walk in the park for me compared to Guardians. I'm fine with RNRC too. I guess everyone's experience is different.

Thanks for the info that’s all good to know

Having looked I can see how it’s a while 1g more than Tron, I assume the launch is the same but the rest is higher g are you’re balding speed for a longer period as you’re going around the world.

I’m actually kind of looking forward to it at the moment

Yeah it’s very odd, I guess it depends on what likes and dislikes a person has.

I hate exposed drops, so things like Tron, Guardians etc are indoors and not so bad.

My first ever was Gringott’s, most don’t classnit as a coaster. Then The Mummy, Hagrids and recently Tron and Guardians of which both were awesome and a Breeze.

I don’t find any of the Disney ones at all hard or uncomfy and the only ones I’ve yet to do are Rock N Roller Coaster (it was closed) and Everest due to the exposed height and drop of it which I’m struggling to get my head around :-(

I definitely think you can do Everest if you go on Rockin and like it. Everest has a couple of stops and starts in it and is not nearly as intense I feel. The drop isn't that long and it curves around pretty quickly so it doesn't feel that intense.

Just don't do Velocicoaster, that one is crazy and makes you feel like you are going to fall out of the cart over the water.

If SEEING the drop is what bothers you the most, you'll be fine on RnR, can't really see much of anything 😂

Yeah I missed that and hulk lol

Everest that drop and the incline up where it’s exposed are my issues, speed and maintained speed over time are no problem, neither are twists, turns and spins etc :-(

Yeah and the fact it seems there are no drops as such, more just the drop angle out of the inversion/loops etc

But they all look to be over in literally seconds

Maybe a blindfold/eye mask would work? It would as an element of thrill like space mountain.

Well I’m here all and Rock N Rollercoaster was awesome. My kind of ride, high speed start, inversions were awesome and everything about its perfect (apart from it’s too short imo like Tron)…

Now Everest, this is my nemesis, I still cannot seem to get over the initial hill climb and drop height…

I love Everest and don't find the drop too much. I also love RNR and just tried Tron for the first time last week....loved it though my calves per pinched the whole time. Felt so bad as so many were asked to get off as they couldn't close the ride car.
