Coach purses verses Michael Kors

i'm a coach fanatic but not of the cloth c bags. I'm a leather gal. I love that they hold up extraordinarily well. I love the different colors they come in.
I do have one MK bags, the only complaint I have about it is that the bag has no support so stuff all falls to the bottom. lol annoys me to the end.

First off: Let me say that I don't have an MK bag. Like eliza61, I am a big fan of the Coach leather bags but not the cloth. And I never buy a Coach bag with an overt emblem on it. The leather bags hold up extremely well. The straps and handles are always very durable and comfortable. But lately, I have not been thrilled with the Coach styles. My eye has been gravitating to the MK bags but I haven't bought one. I do like their shape/styles but not sure about their durability. One thing I don't like about them is that some of them have too much gold metal on them and too much "MK" but some are fine.

Both of those type of purses are well made, but if I decided to spend that kind of money of a purse I would go with Michael Kors because I like there designs better.

I love my coach bags. Like pp I can only comment on the leather purses. I think coach makes a better quality product. I had two MK bags and they did not last long at all. :(

Unfortunately I have to agree with this. I got my Edie when she came out and I love it and I get so many compliments. But the bags that have been released since her-I just don't see anything I love. :(

Like others have said I love plain leather Coach bags... Well not too plain since my favorite is my silver patent leather one ;)

I have a few MK and they are nice but the styles don't suit my everday look personally.

Neither. I would never drop that kind of money on a purse. The only exception to me is a Disney Dooney and Bourke - then I'm all for it! lol

Right now I have a Fossil bag. Never had a Coach or MK bag. I would take either, but Coach has so many choices I would probably pick Coach.

Coach used to be an exclusive brand. It was expensive and generally not on sale. They had limited "Coach Factory" locations selling closeouts and overstocks, and these weren't in outlet malls but in upscale shopping areas like Carmel, Napa Valley, etc.

It's not bad, but it's no longer what they used to be. There was a time when they took pride that their manufacturing was primarily in the US and they had a lifetime warranty that they actually backed with service. They had no external logos, and the quality of the leather was supposed to indicate that it was a Coach product. They have a difference between "Factory" styles that go straight to outlet malls and others, although I can't really tell the difference in terms of quality. Honestly - the brand doesn't represent what it used to. It's a mass-market brand that falls back on its history. The transition seemed to start around the time they became a publicly traded company and had to answer to shareholders.

My wife likes MK, but then again they also make the bulk of the revenue through outlet sales these days.

I don't think I've seen anything recently from them that has the heavy "baseball glove" style leather that used to be their signature. I am partial to MK mostly because they seem to have fewer purses that smack you in the face with the MK logo. I like the bags but I don't like them to scream MK. Most of the Coach bags I see have the logo all over them. But, like Miskey said, any new purse makes me a happy girl.

I love the vintage leather Coach Classics. I've still got my large, envelope shoulder bag that my parents gave me for Christmas in 1982 and it looks amazing. The hardware is still in great condition. They probably paid a hundred bucks for that bag, and I'll be able to leave it to my future daughter-in-law. That is some great value there!
