Co workers vent.....

Wonder what she would do if you started constantly "sighing" back? I mean really consistently? ;)

I should, maybe she would get the point. :)

Lay it on really thick..;) When she finds herself subjected to it on a non-stop basis a light bulb may go off in her head and she'll suddenly think, "Good grief! Is that what I sound like??"..

Good luck! :goodvibes

A little off the subject but I gotta do it.... My coworker looks at my screen all day long than shares with the department what I am doing. Not telling on me but to say, oh she is sending an email to the boss, she was on facebook and wrote something funny. Also, if anyone has a conversation, personal or work related, she turns her chair around to listen. The other day, I asked her if she wanted something and she said no, I'm just listening and I said I would rather you didnt. She wasnt pleased. But I felt better. She has kind of ignored me for the couple days since..... I'm happy. :)

I can't remember how much they cost, but you can buy a screen that gores over your monitor that makes it impossible for anyone who isn't directly in front of the screen to see what's on it. I used to have one when I worked in HR, since I often had confidential information on the screen.

Even if you have to pay out-of-pocket, it would be worth it to annoy your co-worker when she couldn't see what's on your monitor anymore!! :rotfl:

Or for a cheaper option, make your screensaver a scrolling message that says "I know you're watching this, Diane. Please go do your own work now."

I have a slurper. Will only drink tea really hot, but then has to slurp it up with lots of air so they don't get burnt. Constantly, every day. Luckily I only have to listen to it if I'm at my desk and he is on break and comes back to use someone's computer. I just want to scream, We're you raised in a barn, drink quietly!

I am on medication for depression. Before I started the medication I sighed all the time. It just came out. I would sigh constantly. I did it so much that I really never "heard" myself. Then I started on my medication and the sighing went away.

I am manic-depressive. I appear very happy, and most people would never guess that I suffer from depression.

My guess is that this woman is severely depressed, and that making it through the day is hard on her. Is her life any harder than anyone else's? Probably not. In fact she could have a "better" or "easier" life than many, many other people. That's the tricky thing with depression. It doesn't care what your real life is like.

The problem is how in the world do you deal with this annoyance? And yes it would really bug me too! I would have to confront her or I would blow up. My MIL used to complain and sigh from the moment she woke up to the moment she went to bed. When she would do it, and I couldn't take it anymore, I would say, "Oh my GOSH what HAPPENED?!" in the same tone and loudness that she complained. I would do it again, and again, and again. Of course it didn't change her, but it did make her aware, and it made me feel better.

Usually those who do all that complaining have this inner urge that they constantly want to scream out and complain all day long. They can't contain it. This is also a sign of depression. Many do not know that anger is also a sign of depression not just sadness, tiredness.... So if these folks are confronted about depression they will announce, "I'm not depressed I'm mad!"

My best friend is like this. Anytime something is wrong with her it is ALWAYS worse than it really is. When she had her hysterectomy 15 years ago, she was "precancerous". She wasn't originally, but later she was. Now she has a cyst on her left ovary and it isn't cancerous, but I know once she has had surgery, it will have actually been "precancerous".

My DD has a cyst on her ovary and has been in pain off and on for the last 4 months. My best friends pain started at the beginning of November and it is supposedly the size of a tennis ball (originally 3cm - it has grown that much in this short of time )

With her if you mention something, she has had it and had it worse than you. Her husband had a mild nervous breakdown 2 years ago and she still refers to that time as when "he went cuckoo".

Now everytime I hear about any of her ailments, I take it with a grain of salt.
