:(

They said that 5 u.s. men were executed when they were surrendering.

I find it hard to digest how horrible some people are.

they just said that this was UN-confirmed.

I don't know why they report these things when they are unconfirmed.

Me either, I thought cnn didn't do that.

Breaking News Now on the Cnn Website.
Pentagon looking seriously at report that seven U.S. soldiers in an ambushed convoy were killed by Iraqis on Sunday as they got out of their trucks with their hands up, surrendering, sources told CNN. Details to come.
:(

It wouldn't surprise me any. These chicken-**** Iraqis are hiding behind hospitals and schools KNOWING we won't engage them there. How long will it be until our leaders say enough is enough...We tried to obey the rules of war but we can not do it any longer!!!

I say give the people of Iraq 5 hours to leave Baghdad...after that....whatever happens.....happens.....

I don't believe this was in reference to a new ambush, but rather a confirmation/further explanation of the group from the 507th that had taken a wrong turn. This would include the first reported POWs and the suspectedly executed dead soldiers that were shown on Al Jazeer over the weekend.

That's the impression I have also ckr - my understanding is that there is at least one eyewitness account of the murder of surrendering U.S. soldiers.

Just add it to the list of Iraqi war crimes...

I can't imagine what the soldiers had to see or what they are having to go through. God be with them; God be with the families.

On the "other" side, I know someone who strongly disagrees with me on some things @ this war. He had the "joy" of telling me that he heard on the news about 5:ooam, that some Iraqis were yelling that they want us out of there. I am sure there may be a FEW who feel this way, but I am not sure it is as many as were being portrayed.

Yeah, I heard a report on ABC radio news this morning that a thousand or so Iraqis had met the first food convoy. The Iraqis were yelling that they wanted to be martyrs for Hussein, but they were fighting amongst themselves to get to the food.

I say let 'em become martyrs - save the food for the people that will appreciate it, and that won't use it for nourishment while they fight our troops.

You know what? I'm so glad that there was no such thing as CNN or Fox News during WWII. Can you imagine? They would have had the American people screaming for surrender in the first month.

Bless these service people. I pray for all of the service men and women over there.

So true. Most people don't realize that for the first six months of WW2 we had our backs against the wall, suffering setback after setback. We didn't achieve our first outright victory until June of 1942, and didn't go on the offensive until August of 1942.

When you look at the casualty figures from past conflicts you realize that things are nowhere near as bad as in the past. In 1916 the British suffered 20,000 dead and 30,000 wounded in a SINGLE DAY at the battle of the Somme. Right now I can't stand the media for the negative spin they seem to be putting out whenever they get the chance.

I agree 100% TENNVOLTONY!!

Our biggest problem right now is that we're TOO NICE!! Give them so long to get out of the city, and that's it. No more Mr. Nice Guy! ;)

One of the men I work with said that as far as he's concerned a white flag is now a target.

Patty, I understand your co-worker's point about the white flag. Who can trust it? I certainly don't want anymore of our Military to lose their lives on the chance of a ruse.

My motto...."shoot first, ask questions later!" (I'm all for a white flag raised by Iraqi's should be a target!)

This infuriates me. Why would they JUST report this. Don't they have any consideration for the families of these servicemen/women. What is wrong with these people.
