CMT rewards last night...did any notice Taylor Swift

Did anyone notice that after Taylor Swift did her stage slot that as they were panning away from her that she got a questioning look on her face then what I interpreted as indignation and mouthed the words "WHAT!??!"

Why is it gross? She'll be 21 in a few weeks and he's 29. Its not that much of an age difference.

She isn't out drinking, partying, and going to clubs. So how is she going the way of others that got fame too young? Her and Jake Gyllenhal (sp??) are going apple picking and getting ice cream.

He is nearly 30, their birthdays are a few days apart. There is a world of difference between what would be a college junior and a man that is 30. And their publicists are telling us they are going apple picking and getting ice cream. Just like Britney and Justin were waiting for marriage.

Jake has been around the block and is Hollywood. So while he may be only 30 years old, he is much older in the real world.

Taylor Swift is a 21 year old mega pop/country star. She has been in the spotlight for at least 4 years now and can't really be compared to a typical 21 year old college girl. She has matured/grown in a different way. I somehow doubt that your average 21-23 year old guy is going to be able to deal with that or that's what she's interested in.

Some of you are bashing her for her "aw shucks" attitude but would you rather see her act the opposite and be completely self absorbed and not be so attentive to her fans. I am surprised by the reaction to her considering the other "young role models" we have lurking around. I would much rather my DD look up to someone like Taylor. Say what you want about her voice but you can't deny the girl's got talent.

I don't know much about Taylor. I do think she goes overboard with the "humble" act. She was on Regis and Kelly, and when she came out she looked so shocked at the applause she was getting and just stood there for the longest time gazing at the audience in disbelief with this "who me?" look on her face. It was a bit much, and I was like, "just sit down already and stop basking!" Most guests of the show smile and give the audience a quick wave then sit down.

I do think her songs are catchy and find myself singing along with her in the car. It also seems like she is a good role model for young girls, but as I said, I don't know too much about her.

I am not a Taylor fan, but I respect the fact that she is a great role model for young girls. Her songs are nice for that age group and she is very popular with them. Nothing wrong with that.

I did notice on the awards show that she sounded better than she normally does when singing at those shows.

And she was recently inducted into the songwriter's Hall of Fame in Nashville, so that is quite an honor for her.

As for dating a guy older than herself, she's an adult. Her business. Nobody else's. If he treats her right, makes her happy, and vice versa, why should anyone even care about an age difference?

I really like Taylor Swift and her music and also find myself humming along to her catchy tunes . IMO, her innocent nature and music is a breath of fresh for the pre teeny boppers like my 12yo DGD's . For teens there are much, much, worse influences of singers to be concerned with.

As far as her dating someone 9 yrs older, who is obviously more wordly, so be it. She's young, finding her way, and may go on to have many more romantic relationships. My DH is 10 yrs my senior and the flame has burned brightly for 46+ yrs . My Dad & Mom had a 13 yr age difference, my IL's were 23 yrs difference ~ both their marriages lasted for 50+ yrs. .
