CM would not let me make ADRs. Why?

I called today to make ADRs for our August trip (August 21-29) I believed that I could reserve for all my days at the 180 day mark from the date of arrival (which would have been this past Saturday)

The CM told me that I could reserve for August 21, 22, and 23, but that I would have to call back for the remaining days at the 180 day mark for each ADR. I questioned her, but she was insistent. Then I read these boards today, and see that folks have made ADRs even for parts of September.

What is the deal? Did I get a "misinformed" CM?

:sad1: :scared:   :confused3

Are you staying at a Disney resort?

The 180 + 10 thing is a perk for those staying on Disney property and is not available to off-property guests. If you are staying off-property you have to call 180 days out for each individual day of your trip (which can be frustrating, I know!).

If you are staying on property then the CM definitely did make a mistake. Sorry to hear about your frustration!

She is in her signature it says she is staying at the all star movies.

Oops!

I obviously wasn't paying attention - sorry!

In this case, you probably just had an uninformed CM but to be safe I would double-check your reservation just to make sure everything is in order.

I am worried about this happening to me! My 180 day mark isn't until June, but I'm already planning for it - and I'm concerned that I'll get one of "those CM's" that won't let me book all my ADR's, that will only let me book the one day that is 180 days away.

If you get someone like that on the phone, WHAT DO YOU DO?? I'm going to be trying to get CRT, I don't really want to hang up and try again.

You very politely say, "Thank you. Goodbye" and call back. The chances of getting the same CM are negligible (but not non-existent).

When I called on my 180 day, I tried to book Yak & Yeti and was told it wouldn't open up until the 180 days and would have to call back on that day.

As the PP mentioned, there are a few restaurants that do not participate in the 180 + 10 policy, I know Raglan Road is another that I had to call at exactly the 180 day mark.

Try for CRT first (obviously). If you have an uniformed CM then you take Kaytieeldr's approach, say thank you, hang up, and immediately try again.

If CRT is part of the +10 in 180+10, and you don't get it on day one - don't despair. They do not release all of the tables for CRT until exactly 180 days before the day you dine there.

Good luck! :goodvibes

Is your stay by any chance a split stay, with more than one reservation? They may only be seeing the dates for the first reservation and not the second.

In addition to Yak & Yeti and Raglan Road, Wolfgang Puck Cafe is also 180 exact. I called last Tuesday for my ressies for my August trip, and did all but Y&Y and WPC. Called Friday for Y&Y and Sunday for WPC. No problems, all CMs very helpful, got all my times and then even changed the 2 ressies for our arrival day (concerned we won't get in early enough so pushed them back about 45-1 hour).

Like everyone said, says thanks, hang up and call again. You'll most likely get a better CM the second time.

I was told the same thing when I called yesterday. She said the date was locked out due to the request being outside of the required time frame. So I call back for that one on Friday.

I had no problems making the rest of our ADRs for the full 10 days though.

When I called the CM explained that Yak & Yeti is not Disney owned so does not participate in 180 + 10. That would explain a few of them.

I called this morning, and I was allowed to make all of my ADR's for the week (even got TWO for Le Cellier!)

I guess all the CMs are not equally knowledgable!

Thanks for the replies. I amd glad to know I'm not the only one who got bad info! (Not that I'm glad anyone did, but that it wasn't personal, you know what I mean, right?;) )
