CM said he was arranging extra Magic...won't tell me what!?!

I'm so excited!

I called WDWT this evening to ask a few questions about my ressie. I got a wonderful CM "Randolph" He was so nice. He wanted to know why I chose the Poly for our vacation. So I explained to him (and this is the truth) that my girls absolutely love Lilo and Stitch and they think we are staying at Lilo's house on vacation (the Poly). I got a gift for each girl and I wanted it in the room when we checked in as we are celebrating their birthday that week (they turn 3 the day we come back) so they would think that Lilo left them a birthday present. I asked him how I go about doing that. He told me that he would connect me to the reps at the Poly but before that he wanted to make sure that we had some "extra magic" for our vacation!

So he takes over 15 minutes typing all this stuff in his computer. What our favorite characters are etc. Asked again about the whole Lilo and Stitch thing with my girls etc. So he said "you understand that you are going to benefit from this magic as well, this will be the most magical vacation you have had" But he wouldn't tell me and said I would find out when we checked in.

I'm so excited and curious as to what it is he has "arranged". I wonder if it is one of those special magic upgrades people talk about. Are the CM's at WDWT authorized to upgrade guests? I guess I'll find out when we get there I just want to know what you guys think.

I also talked with Randolph on Sat. night and he was just as helpful with my ressies. At the time he was really sick and when I offered my sympathy he went out of his way to help me and did the same thing for the members of my family. I am also now very excited to see what he has planned for my DS's when we arrive He was so good I made it a point to leave a message with his manager about his services. Did he sound like he was feeling better? He is also sending my sons the planning DVD so they can watch it leading up to the trip. I have seen on this site that the suprise is usually a personalized autographed picture for the kids. But since Randolph told both you and me that the whole family will benifit I am crossing my fingers it is an upgrade. Either way the whole conversation with him totally re-pumped me up about our families Christmas trip. If you are going befor Christmas when you get back will you post what it was that Randolph setup for your family?:thewave:

Disney Spaz: He didn't sound sick today so seems like he is better. He did say they had been very, very busy. I will definately let everyone know what the suprise was!

One thing that I left out is Randolph transferred me to the Poly after he was finished so I could ask about the gifts. I spoke with Amanda at the Poly and explained the whole thing (about the Lilo and Stitch thing) and she said I just give them to the desk when we get there and they will take care of it. She then tried to look at my ressie and said she didn't have access to it yet, but to make sure to call 5 days before we leave and ask for her specifically and she will take care of us!

The suspense will be killing me you realize this!

I totally know what you mean but at least the wait is not super long. We went with my DS's two years ago and the CM at the front desk had a note from Santa placed in our room for the boys. It was great my youngest still has it. I am glad to hear Randolf is doing better. When I talked to him on Sat. he sounded miserable and the phone conversation started off a little un-Disney because he was ill. But once I told him I was a mother and thought he chould tell his boss he needed to go home and get rest his who demenor changed. It is amazing what a little potivity can do for a person. Show you care and they will go to the ends of the earth for you.

I talked to a very CM when I was planning our last trip. It was dd's 7th birthday. He asked me what all three kids favorite characters were. On the 2nd day we were there we came back to find an autographed card from each of their favorite characters, balloons, and a chocolate "birthday" souvenier for each. It was "magic" and the kids were delighted.

hi, i went through the very same experience that you did, talking to cm prior and being told a special pd would be included. gave all info like you did on likes.................

we get there, and nothing...........when i checked in the cm at the desk went over all the details on my conf. list she had and gave me a wink............then for 9 days, nothing.......right before we checked out, i talked to the manager and told him of my disappointment........we went back to our room and within 10 minutes a cm delivered two bday cards , mickey and goofy.

sorry, this didn't make up for what was to be............don't count on anything or u could set yourself up for disappointment.

hopefully, you will not have to go thru what we did. i was so sad because my kid was sad. i wish you the best on your trip and wish you get loads of pixie dust while there.

I would like to add a word of caution. You never know what he typed in will be seen by someone else.

Please go with the attitude that you are already in a wonderful place and if a little extra magic happens that would be great.

I wouldn't want to see your vacation spoiled because you went with high hopes of getting something extra.

But yes Magic does sometimes happen at WDW. You will have a great time.

Also If you change your res. alot(like for discount codes), It may not end up on your final res.
I had a "little extra" that was suppose to happen when I first made res. for my DGDs birthday. Well by the time of my final res. the requests were all messed up. They had a request to get an Aruba bld. when we were not even staying there, we were staying at POFQ.
So I knew I had lost that "Little extra" that was suppose to happen.
It wasnt a big deal to me, because I had planned my own stuff. I thought of it as a nice surprise if it happened.
I also never told my DGDs about it, so no dissapointment there either.

Is WDWT the same number as CRO? If not, what is the advantage or disadvantage of calling one or the other? Also, can you call and request to speak with a certain CM or take pot luck? I am not looking for anything extra, it would just be nice to know I was getting a pleasant person.

I've dealt with "Randolph" before concerning my CRO room-only reservation. He is VERY pleasant to talk with. He certainly has THE magic in his heart!

Prehaps they're setting you up to preview the Lilo and Stitch AE attraction? There is a rumor it'll be previewed in Sept.

I truly hope that your wishes come true for the surprise. However it is best not to hope for anything. I learned that last year when we were at BC for 10 days celebrating my dd's 16th birthday. Took all info, at check in went over my dd's favorites adn it looked like he typed stuff in, and there was nothing. I had not said anything to her, luckily, but dd and her 3 friends had just a wonderful time they didn't need the extra, I guess it was just mom wishing.

When we stayed at the All-Stars, Mousekeeping left us a surprise towel animal (I never expected that to happen) and they sent my DH a birthday card from Mickey, but when my DH tried to arrange some anniversary surprises at the Poly, it just didn't pan out.

But the way we see it is that WDW is so magical as it is...it's not our style to start "expecting" extras, but it makes it all the more thrilling when those surprises do exactly that...surprise us!!!
