CM resort discount

My son's friend is currently working at WDW on the college program and said he would be happy to get us a discount on our resort hotel (just one night) but he doesn't know how to go about it. We already have a reservation. Would we have to cancel that and he would have to book one for us? Or can he apply the discount somehow to our current reservation? Thanks!

He would have to book through the HUB and go to the resort to show his ID up to 10 days prior to your arrival.
