CM gracefully handling situations

I've been reading different things on the dis boards about cast members good and bad. On our last trip in Feb. we had a young woman cast member due her best to be graceful in a very strange situation. I was purchasing a t shirt in one of the stores at the MK over by the speedway. After making my purchase and asking to send it to my room I noticed the throw blankets that they have for sale if you buy a certain amount and asked if she could add that in as well. She had already done everything and cashed out and could have been snotty about it but she was very pleasant and said no problem (their was a pretty long line behind me at the time).

What happened next would have been very funny if I hadn't felt so bad for her. As she opened the cash register to make change the lanyard she was wearing (loaded with pins) got hung up on the draw. The draw was hanging from her neck and if she moved it would have dumped all over the floor but it was stuck so that it wouldn't push back in. She really couldn't move and tried to calmly ask another CM behind her to help but it was so crowded and loud that she couldn't get her attention. I really wanted to help but I couldn't go behind the counter, though I did offer. I finally managed to get another cast member to come over and unhook her. Many of the people waiting in line were getting upset with the wait and one mother in particular was getting very loud that her son had been waiting forever.

The cast member smiled at me and said thank you and she thought she wouldn't be trading any more pins today. Very polite, kept smiling even though I'm sure she was embarrassed and went right back to waiting on guests. I thought she was very classy and handled a strange situation very well. I don't think I would have handled it as well.

GREAT story!:)

The Cast Members at WDW ARE wonderful.:)

You may want to write Disney about this great CM.

Include the CM's name(if you remember),location,time,date,etc.:)

Unless they were a College Program CM whose program has already ended,Disney should still be able to give them some recognition.:)

We took our granddaughter, now 15 years old to Disney World when she was five. WE didn't know her that well as she was ready made at the age of four when our son married her mother. What we found was she didn't like certain types of rides but she really wanted to go on Dinosaur (not Countdown to Extinction) so we went and she was great all through the queue and the preshow and then, we walked into the holding room and she saw, just outside the doors - a dinosaur skull. She freaked. I tried to calm her down and we had to continue to walk as there was nothing else to be done.

I found out she didn't realize that the dinosaurs were dead! I spent the entire holding area time to try and get her to go on the ride but she didn't want to see a dead dinosaur. Yeah, I had to hold back that all dinosaurs are dead but couldn't do that in the quick amount of time.

Holding area doors open, granddaughter is clutching me and saying she wants out now! We are a party of five so when we get to the seating area, my husband says, "three to ride, two to exit". All five of us are shown to a seating area of four by a smiling Cast Member who says "the two to leave should enter first and then exit the other side". And then leaves. When the next car shows up, we do just that as another Cast Member says "wait a minute, there shouldn't be five here!" and my son says "two are leaving" and the second Cast Member says "have a great day!"

Husband took granddaughter out and my daughter-in-law, at the end of the ride ride said, "she would have NOT liked that and Disney is great!"
