CM Gifts?

I have had a CM go WAY above and beyond with a hotel issue (reservation) I was having. Many e-mails and months of "work".

Today everything was finally resolved...and I am wondering if anyone has ever sent a gift as a thank you.

I am quite sure it was above and beyond anything her needed to do...and I am delighted.

Our stay is in November and I have already written a letter to Disney about the whole situation.

I was thinking of sending a little token of thanks, I am from Chicago...so a tin of Garretts popcorn Chicago mix (value 30.00).

Is this appropriate? Or overkill?

I LOVE this idea!!! . People never hesitate to complain, but so rarely take the time to compliment... I'm not sure of Disney's policy for CMs accepting gifts, but I still think it's a lovey idea.

CM's are allowed to take gifts! Just not cash. I think it's a wonderful idea to send Garrett's popcorn! Will you send me some????

Definately make sure you send a note to Disney so it can go in his file.

I had two trips with much pixie dust; the first time I took three friends from work and on the second day of our trip, one of them had a family emergency and had to leave unexpectedly and the second time, I got really, really sick and needed medical attention.

I sent an e-mail both times and was very pleased to have a couple of e-mails back as well as a personal phone call to let me know how pleased they were I had been helped "above and beyond" and said they would make sure all the CM's had a note placed in their files. They had called around and determined through the management, which people had helped us based on the timing.

Contact management and commend the service you got from this CM. I am sure he or she will like the popcorn, but a comment to her supervisor is gold.

I have to ask...where are you going to send the popcorn to?? There are general call centers, as well as some who work from home..if I remember correctly. So, not sure where you would send a gift to!!
I would think that a note of commendation to management is worth a ton more..it goes in their file and then when reviews come along, there it is...glowing compliment from a guest. Worth it's weight in gold.

I wouldn't send food. A letter to management is the best thanks you can give.

. . . you don't know about the CM's food preferences/likes/dislikes
2) Send something tangible
. . . a hometown souvenir
. . . a handmade item

3) Or, a true slice of Chicago - - - a crooked politician.

the CM was not on the phone, it is the manager of a resort, so I have his card, phone/address etc.

And yes...a gift!

I figured popcorn was fun and if he doesn't like/alregies, it could be shared.
