CM arrested

Oh yeah, that will print something out. It may not get it out of the tray of the printer....

And if you can do this which I am not so sure about  then a normal person throws it away and tries to find out what is happening and how to make it stop .

Don't doubt me! I am a security professional.

"Microsoft has admitted that speech recognition features in Vista could be hijacked so that a PC tells itself to delete files or folders.
Vista can respond to vocal commands and concern has been raised about malicious audio on websites or sent via e-mail.

In one scenario outlined by users an MP3 file of voice instructions was used to tell the PC to delete documents. "

I tested it. It works. Check it out....

That still wouldn't explain it being printed out laying around the room :confused3

True, if that were the case.

But to stretch this scenario even further, if the printer did not have the little retaining wire set up, perhaps the pages fall out onto the floor as they print.

Again, this is stretching, but I do this for a living and I have seen this situation before caused by unauthorized software that was installed on the user's computer without their knowledge, either over the Internet or SneakerNet (someone walks up to the computer and puts a disk in it).

You cannot believe all the details or "facts" reported in the media or even by the police. I am not suggesting someone has lied; however, stories get twisted and misreported unintentionally. If the charges against this man are legitimate, he needs to be tried by a jury in court. Otherwise, everyone needs to remember that we do not have all the facts. He could have been set up. He might not have "admitted" anything at all. That's why we have trial by a jury of our peers in this country.

LOL, I deal with this all the time...people with a false sense of security regarding their computer.

People lock every door and window, have security systems, yet don't realize that their computer is the least secure thing in the house.

It's not fantasy.

I know what you mean about the computer security. That makes sense and I know there are ways for people to mess with that...my only problem was if he had it printed out and around his house. That I don't think you can blame on your computer. :)

Technically speaking, a roommate with a grudge could access the computer, gather stuff, plant it and then call the cops. I believe there was a case a few years ago where somebody tried to frame their boss that way on the work computer.

The most likely explanation, however...

Before everyone gets riled up let's remember one of this country's basics. This person is innocent until proven guilty. Too many times we forget that and condemn someone before we know all the facts to the case.

i was just getting ready to say that. by NO MEANS am i condoning child porn, but we don't know the whole story yet. i'm sure he'll have his day in court and if he is guilty, he'll pay for it. judges, juries and the legal system in general don't take too much pity on any sort of child sex offenders. i'm a court reporter and see this sort of thing more than i want to admit. :sad1:

maybe he is a college student gathering info for a college paper or doing research on sex on internet, gathering data to write a book, well I believe in Santa Claus too.

Pedophiles have abused children since the dawn of man. You just hear more about it now because of available media and reduced shame of admitting being abused.

Yeah, these "nowadays" posts crack me up! My Mother took in abused children when I was a kid, kids that had been raped, physically abused, you name it. That was nearly 50 years ago. We just HEAR about it more now.

It used to be difficult to access porn, I used to work near Times Square. On my way to the subway were rows of porno shops, I saw all kinds of men slip in there to get whatever they wanted.

Nowadays all you have to do is pull up a website in the privacy of your own home. Thank goodness for computer forensics.

Yeah, and keep waiting for that confession...

This is so true!! While my field of practice is now restricted to child protection work, I spent a number of years as a criminal defence attorney and before I got my law degree, worked as a police officer in a large city which gave me some degree of involvement with both sides of our criminal justice system.

Yes most people charged with criminal offences are guilty and that's why over 90% of criminal charges laid are resolved with guilty pleas. That being said, sometimes innocent people do find themselves facing criminal charges. While I was reading this thread I've thought back and recalled a number of cases where I've had clients who were charged despite the presence of evidence that proved their innocence. These are definitely in the minority and rarely get to trial, however it does occur often enough to cause some concern. Of course by the time these innocent people are cleared, they've already lost their jobs, their homes, and generally had their lives ruined.

From my own experience of having a number of cases reported in the press, I can honestly say the media has reported each of these cases in an extremely distorted and inaccurate fashion. For that reason alone, I would never make a judgment about someone's guilt or innocence based upon information received through the media. This isn't necessarily a result of journalists attempting to sensationalize a situation, but rather trying to put together a full story out of a few basic facts that they don't always receive in a proper context and may or may not be right to begin with. Sadly, jury pools are comprised of people who read these articles and hear these news reports.

Is this CM guilty? Perhaps he is and perhaps he isn't...I don't have all the facts...none of us do. The people who do will make the decision.

Just my .02... :confused3

All this innocent before proven guilty posts....very true. However, I wonder how many of these posts we would have if the alleged suspect wasn't a CM?

None.

He would've been vilified.

This is a discussion board, the fact that some people believe will not change his punishment. Innocent before proven guilty protects defendants, it won't affect this person just because people have an opinion.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17073670 here is a article that was on msn that says 45 pictures and this article says over 1000 so i think some stuff has been blow out of porportion if he had 1000 pic he should have more that 51 charges not saying if he did it or not because you never know now a days i do agree i do not want him near my kids till you find out. but that is also not right because that is judgeing him and now he does not have any income till he goes to trial which will be a while.

This is most likely not the first time this has happened at Disney.

Most likely, it won't be the last.

Background checks, when done, can only turn up people who've been caught previously.
