Let me start by saying it's -40C here today with the wind and for those of you who like farenheit, it's still -40F = absolutely freezing cold. We live in an apartment with radiant heat (water circulation.) I came home today to find huge holes in stairwell because they had to come in and shut off the water with the emergency shut off valve, a pipe has burst from the cold. Well, fine and dandy, that stuff happens. Then as I open the door to my floor i feel a freezing burst of air (inside!) I feel under the neighbors door across the hall, yup, that's where it's coming from. So i peek out the door and the psychos have the balcony door WIDE OPEN!!!! I imagine it's open because she smokes 3-4 packs/day but anyone who has ever made an ice cube knows what happens when cold air meets water, in this case the radiator water can freeze, expand and then.... This is a recipie for another pipe breaking. Not to mention that i'm sitting here freezing my butt off because the cold air is coming into my suite under the door (along with her second hand cancerous air.) I have the thermostat set cranked and it's still below 20C or 70F... grrrrrrrrr
