We received a pin, so we are looking to extend our stay by several days. I really would like to stay club level but dh is not convinced...he wants to stay at a value and save the money. Are the different CL fairly similar, or are there major differences? Is there any resort that you wouldn't stay CL at? We are staying in a GV room at the Poly for the rest of our trip...this will be a last minute addition to the beginning of the trip.

since the Polyn is a wonderfully resort - would make your husband happy and stay at a value.

that say heard good things about AKL and WL CL.

Stayed CL at Poly, GF, BC, YC, and AKL. They are all different and have their pros and cons. Generally I choose the resort I want to stay at, then decide if I want CL on that trip or not. That said, my 2 favorites right now (based on the lounges and food, not the resort) are GF RPC and AKL CL -- one's at the very top of the price range and the other is at the bottom. :rotfl: But they are all nice, if the price is right.

What specifically are you looking for?

I used to love AKL club level and bought more DVC points when they were first offered to have the 11 month advantage to book a room with CL. That said, I have no desire to stay there again after several trips there via DVC( same lounge and services for everyone). As a cash guest you will have a savannah view which is nice but you won't be on the floor where the lounge is located. They do have a very nice continental breakfast and good service, but we were not impressed with the other "snacks" which were fairly similar every night. We loved GF's Sugarloaf and RPC, and really loved BWI's club level as well as that of WL. BWI is a little more upscale and the rooms are more spacious and not so dark. As to the Poly CL- wouldn't try it again either. I have not experienced the YC/BC CL or the Contemporary's CL.

Thanks for the replies. I'm leaning towards WL...it is the least expensive and the lounge offerings look unique. Of course, we really should just stay at a value resort and save the money

There is a bit of a price difference. Now, we don't know your financial situation or your tastes, so that makes it a hard judge for others to advise :). We also don't know if this is a special trip.

However, something specific we do know. You're past the 45 day marker [if your ticker is accurate], you're at a point where it will cost you to change your reservation, so generally, the idea of saving 'money' can potentially cost you more money. So it would be a good idea to talk to one of the travel agents and see what the price differences would be if you did want to change.

From what I understand, generally, they'll waive the change fee if your package cost goes up, but it's far better to hear that from the travel agent :).

WL CL is a great choice, IMO :thumbsup2. We've stayed WL CL, GF SL, and GF RPC and while GF RPC is my favorite, WL CL runs a very close second. The CL CMs at the WL are amazing and although some people don't care for how the lounge seating is arranged, I personally love it as the tables/chairs are arranged around the railing overlooking the lobby :cloud9:. Plus, like you said, WL CL is a less expensive option than the others. Good luck deciding, but I don't think you would regret it ;).
