Club 33

Lots of theories...some radical, some plausible...but the official answer has never been confirmed.
Club 33 is named after its street address at 33 Royal St in New Orleans Sq at Disneyland.

This the official line often put out but does not speak to why then it was addressed as 33 Royal Street? That was a made up address...a bit of what came first, the chicken or the egg?

Most books on the matter would say that staff who worked in the club in the opening days would say that it is based off the 33 corporate sponsors of the park in the year that it opened. But upper management decided on the name after Walt passed away and while CMs of the past are more likely to provide accurate information that CMs today, you still can't believe everything a CM tells you.

I think the next most plausible explanation would be as a reference to the year 1933 which marked the end of prohibition in the US as Club 33 was the first place to serve alcohol in the park (and only one till Galaxy's Edge opened).

The "streets" in the New Orleans Sq have various names reminiscent of NOLA in keeping with the theme of that area of the park. Even the buildings have markings on them similar to what you'll see in NOLA. All the doorways have house numbers on them.

Correct, but the address of 33 on that door was most certainly chosen for a reason...or are you suggesting that it was just a chance of randomness the name and address of the Club was derived from?

I mean its not like the the USPS dictated those as official addresses...

The doors on the streets are all sequentially numbered just like a street anywhere. I believe the name of the club was derived from the address where the stairs were to get up to the club.
