Any chance a Club 33 member is willing to set up reservations for a Marine and his wife who are taking a mini vacation to Disneyland the weekend of Oct 14 - 16? Perferct world would be dinner reservations for Saturday night but willing to take anything. Would love to surprise the wife with this great experience.

Thanks in advance,

The thing about Club 33 is that the member has to be part of the dining party. So, if you're willing to dine with strangers, then it can be worked out. If you're looking for a romantic experience.....strangers = not so romantic.

Moving to the Disneyland forum. I am not sure if the Disneyland forum allows posters to use the forum to ask for sponsorship to Club 33 though.

Actually, not true. We dine frequently without our sponsors.

BUT, the member is responsible for the guests behavior/dress/ability to pay, so most members will not allow people to use their memberships without knowing a lot about them.

This. We've been blessed in the past but the member has not been present. One of my Disney wishes is to get to meet him face to face to say thank you. :lovestruc

Hmmm....then my dad has been lying to me all these years in order to get us to pay for him to go. Whenever we want to take a group of friends, he tells us he has to be part of the dining party per Club 33 rules, and then we split his dinner cost between all of us, since he has to be there.

Methinks it's time to give my dad a talking to!! pirate:

Well, some members don't trust their guests to not act up...... Or maybe he just wants to go?

I would HOPE it's that he just wants to go! Who wouldn't trust me? :cutie: :confused3 ;)

The member doesn't have to be there, but they are financially responsible if the party is a no show. That is a big risk to take for someone thay you may not know that well--so maybe that is what your dad means. I don't blame him for not wanting to take the risk. I don't really think that is fair to ask of someone, so it works both ways.

Well, my dad knows me pretty well. I dunno. Doesn't matter. I'm just being a little silly anyway! I don't really care, because I don't mind having my dad along. Now I just know for the future not to say that to other people!

I also have not met the benefactor for our visits, but have talked to him alot. I will never be able to repay the debt. Thank you for your service to our country.

LOL - where do you guys find these nice strangers??! :rotfl:
In my case, it was a friend of a friend. And now we are friends with them also. Really sweet people. My friend had asked me where we were going to have a birthday dinner at DL for my son for his 21st birthday. I commented I had hoped to have had a membership to C33 by the time her turned 21, but since I didn't, I was figuring Goofy's. She looked at me and said "What day would you want to go to C33?" I was very surprised. Needless to say, my motto to everyone is just casually let people know you are interested. You never know who might make it happen for you. I definitely never expected it.

I really hope you can find a way in. If I were lucky enough to be a member, I would certainly set you up. Thank you so much for your service to our country. :thanks:

Friend of a friend. After our first visit we sent him a thank you email... and apparently that was an uncommon thing! :( So when we went on a later trip without the friends who know the member, he was willing to extend us an invite based on us having had the simple good manners to say "thank you" for a once in a lifetime experience.

It absolutely kills me that with all the people he has treated to this experience, almost nobody ever thought to send a flipping email to express a little gratitude.

That is amazing, isn't it??? People are quick to want to go but often not so quick to say thanks. :sad2:

Wow, we had a similar experience! The gentleman called me to verify some information, so after we went, I called and thanked them. They said the same thing, they rarely hear back from people after they have gone!

Well- that is pitiful! I'd be calling / emailing / sending a hand written note and offering WDW expert tour guide + chauffeur services for life!! LOL

Our benefactor was a total stranger as well, who had a friend who could get us in, and I couldn't believe that someone was so kind as to put their trust in me, to know we would show up... Had we not, the 'fine' for the benefactor would have been the cost of 3 adult meals and 1 children's meal. I recall though, it was very important to this person that we make sure to tip our server at least 20%, and we did make sure to do so.

I sent them a Thank You email, and a 'Year of a million dreams' collector's pins that we had received as a prize. I can't believe that some people wouldn't issue a thanks to their benefactor!

Good good luck, OP, in getting someone to sponsor you!! :goodvibes
