Club 33

So right now I am watching Disneyland: Behind the Scenes and they are talking about Club 33. I was thinking about it and I have never heard anyone talk about it and was wondering if anyone on the threads happens to have a pass or knows someone who is a member. If so, what is it like, personally. I have seen it a couple of times on TV and it looks really cool, but I was just curious if anyone had any cool stories to get a second hand experience (if that makes any sense )

I saw that special too and have looked it up online. It's pretty cool isn't it?! I can only dream about ever gaining a chance to dine there. You may have a little more luck on the Disneyland boards, though.

There are sometimes threads over on the DL board about Club 33 that you could look at. It is a pretty cool place but really hard to get to visit. There was recently a link to one couple's video of their meal there. Sorry, can't remember how long ago I saw that thread.

Hey, I've been there! It's really neat. My brother is a tax attorney for Price Waterhouse Coopers in L.A. and they are members. He can go anytime he wants, so whenever we are out there, we go for lunch. Not sure exactly what you would like to know so feel free to ask me any specific questions.

We had lunch there in Oct. It is an amazing experience!

It's very exclusive and there is a very long waiting list to become a member. It's also quite expensive to be a member! We were lucky that my Dh had a work associate that set up a lunch invitation for us.

From what I understand members are quite picky on who they invite, since it's their reputation on the line. So you really have to know one to be able to go. But it sure is wonderful, the atmosphere, the history of the place, the food and the service. Just such a cool experience.

I, DF and 2 friends went to club 33 about a month ago. We were able to go because of a friend of a friend of a famous rock bands membership( I was not privy to the name). It is THAT amazing. First of all, I think the food in Dland park sucks. But, in 33, it is truly a fine dining experience. The buffet of seafood was fresh and delish. The entrees were FANTASTIC. I had the halibut with Lobster and DF had the steak. The desserts were out of this world. And the staff was right on the money. I can tell you that they arent taking any applicants for the waiting list right now and not until 2010 , that is info from Lisa the Hostess of 33. I personally sent in my request to be put on the waiting list about a year ago and had a return response telling me that , no and sorry , we arent taking any applications now.
The cost for membership is very expensive. It is about 8000-? and about 2500- a year, I think. It may be a completely different number, as I kind of went deaf when Lisa the host of 33 told me the actuall number.
If you get a chance to go eat there, take it!! It is expensive. But it is so worth it. Our meal for the 2 of us was with tip 170-. But as I am looking at my Club 33 black matte coffee cup right now, it was worth it.
So there ya go!

It's a wonderful experience! We are blessed with a generous man who is willing to extend his membership to us when we go to the park. One of my favorite magic moments is standing on the balcony and watching the people walking in NO Square below. It's quiet and unhurried and I love being surrounded by Disney but removed from the crowds.

I love my Club 33 travel mug (blue) and the ornament on our tree each Christmas. It's a nice little reminder.

first thanks for the move, i am so used to just writting on the Walt Disney World board that it didnt even cross my mind to post it here.

Second those stories sound awesome. i knew that it was exclusive but i didnt realize that it was that exclusive and that expensive (even just as an estimation ) I like the stories and congrats on being able to go. I hope one day i will have the oppurtunity to get the chance to see it for myself.

Club 33 is amazing, and our trip there goes down as probably our best Disney memory. A fantastic experience that we will never forget, and if we never get to go back, then at least once was enough. I bought a polo shirt that I have yet to work up the nerve to wear

We just had a birthday lunch there 2 weeks ago thanks to a friend who is friends with a Disney suit. The place is amazing as far as historical value. I love to read anything about Disney history so going there was a real treat. I also love Victorian decor, so I was in Heaven! Lillian decorated the place immaculately. The service was impeccable and the dessert trough amazing. However, DH ordered his steak med rare and it came med well and the salad had some wilted and black lettuce leaves in it. I would say that the food at Napa Rose is much better. However the service was unlike any other restaurant. Simply the best.
We came home with some pins and Polo shirts, as well as a mug and a charm bracelet. I also got a pair of Club 33 Mickey ears and a dark blue baseball cap with the gold Club 33 emblem. I wore my Polo shirt in the Park the next day and got a lot of comments from CMs. The shirts are really pretty, black with the Club 33 40th anniversary emblem and gold trim. Very nice. We will probably go again next year for another birthday lunch! It was fun and very relaxing.

Thanks for sharing all your memories, I loved reading this (and I'm a little jealous but still happy for each of you!) We had the pleasure in October of being in line for Haunted Mansion with a couple who had worked at Disney years ago and married after meeting there. She worked at Club 33. I was soooo impressed. Unfortunately my 3 year old didn't allow me the time to interview her, so I missed out yet again!

A friend of my family's has a membership there and he extended an invitation to us, when we go to Disneyland. So I will probably go sometime in October.

I still cannot believe that Walt would build an exclusive club that he would only let certain people into. It's a little disappointing to me. Please don't get me wrong I still greatly admire the man and his vision. Just my opinion and observation. If I had that kind of money to spend on the membership, personally I would rather give it to a charity. Not trying to offend anyone just giving my opinion...

On that note, I do have a few questions to ask those that have been there, how much are the items (mug, bracelet, etc...)

I understand you Wendy Darling. I see exactly what you're talking about. I just wish there was a way that all the true Disney fans who wanted to experience it would be able to. I fear that there may be many who never get to do it in their lifetimes.

We had lunch there in January of 2007. We were able to get a reservation through a friend. It was fantastic! The next time we go we will not be taking the children with us.
