I'm hoping this is worth a try, but if there is anyone who can get me a reservation for 2 before Jan 24th, I'm wanting to propose to my GF of 5 years there. Disneyland is the place it just has to happen for us, she loves it more than anything and I would like to make it special. I play professional baseball and will be leaving for Florida spring training on the 24th and would like to do this before I leave. Please PM me if anyone has any sources that could help with a reservation. I live in San Diego. Thank you.

Good luck with your quest! We get this question on these boards a lot and unfortunately there are still tons of us that are hoping to get a reservation someday with no luck. If you can't get a Club 33 reservation, you might want to consider doing dinner at Napa Rose, especially at the Chef's Counter!

Good luck on your quest maybe you will get lucky. Another option if you really want the proposal inside the park is a waterfront table at Blue Bayou we just had our anniversary dinner there and the atmosphere was wonderful!

Congratulations on your upcoming engagement!

As someone who spent several years on the waiting list for Club 33 (and then turned down the invitation to join), I can tell you that members must make reservations months in advance, so getting in before January 24—even if you knew someone who could set you up—is a remote chance at best.

The suggestion of the chef's table at Napa Rose is an excellent one as is the waterfront table at the Blue Bayou.

But for me, if I were to suggest the most romantic possible setting for a proposal, I'd tell you to wait until the park has closed for the day and is nearly empty, and walk through Fantasyland toward Main Street, going through the Castle. Then, as you're at the front of the castle on the drawbridge over the water, ask her there...

I am trying to get lucky. If it needs to wait, I play the Dodgers in July and Padres in August plus All-star break between July 11-14. So it can be at that time too. PM me if anyone has a source for me to call. Thanks.

Would your boss have some connections to some upper-ups who might have a membership? (coach, owner of the team, etc?) Or some of your fellow team players? That might be more likely than here on the boards, but who knows.

I think the castle at night is perfect, too. Or the Blue Bayou. I just love the "fireflies" in there! :)

Or over by Snow White's wishing well...secluded, fountains, swans, etc. http://www.flickr.com/photos/barrywallis/238850648/#/photos/barrywallis/238850648/lightbox/

Or there's a gorgeous curving outdoor staircase in New Orleans (I think its actually one side of the Club 33 building) that is so pretty and would be a perfect spot. Slightly set back away from the crowds, perfect picture spot, lots of potted plants and romantic details. http://www.flickr.com/photos/29785315@N07/3917335538#/photos/29785315@N07/3917335538/lightbox/

Or on the Storybookland ride...but at evening, its so pretty then with all the lights! And maybe you could rig it so you guys could get a boat all to yourselves! (just don't drop the ring in the water!).

Maybe even start a thread on romantic Disneyland post, and I bet you could get a bunch of other neat places.

And personally...I wouldn't wait just to get in the restaurant. Life's too short! If you love the girl, just do it!! :) You never know what could happen between now and then.

There are lots of special spots in DLR. Make one special for the 2 of you if it does not already exist. Club 33 is special to others, but is it special for you and her?

Find / make your own special spot.

Best advice given on these boards. Ever.

ETA: Since you are a professional baseball player, you probably have some connections through your sport that might be more successful that getting you into an exclusive club than posting for the first time on a message board where the request comes up about once a month. I would suggest asking your professional contacts --- or maybe propose in a way connected to baseball, since it's an important part of your life. Just a few suggestions. :)

True...then you guys can revisit the spot each time you go back! You'll probably never get a another chance to go back to Club 33 (even if you get in the first time!).

I would have to agree with the others--in all honesty, it might be best to try something other than Club 33, because then you can go back to your "special spot" in all of the years to come. (My husband and I have been married for 17 years--those "special spots" will mean a lot in the years to come).

For a private, thoroughly romantic proposal, I think the suggestions of the Napa Rose and the Blue Bayou are great (particularly the Blue Bayou--even my 66-year-old, totally practical mother waxes gooey romantic over the Blue Bayou). The Castle or Snow White's Grotto are also great spots

If you want to go for a funny proposal, go to a character breakfast and put in "the fix" with the management--ask if either Mickey or the Prince could go whisper in your ear, then nod knowingly and give her the ring.

You also might be able to go to the Princess section, and put in a "fix" with the princess storytelling--that might also be worth a try, for a funny, showy proposal.

However, more than anything, I agree with what everyone else has said. Propose. Don't wait for the "perfect moment". It's you she wants, not the perfect setting. My family has had to face cancer, autism, cerebral palsy, heart problems, and many other challenges over the years. We've faced them all, and done pretty well, because we've been able to face them together.

May you both live happily ever after, for true love conquers all!

Please don't hold out for Club 33 reservations, in the last 4 years or so I have only seen them given away on this site twice (I gave away one of them). I know in my case it was a really complex set of circumstances that saw me with them and unable to use them and it is very unlikely it would ever be repeated... With the other the person ended up with extras and so took others who had been on the site a long time. I too gave them to a long term poster...

And through it all, what does one lose in asking? Might it happen? Hard to say.

I know there are those on this forum who have been lucky and have been in the right place at the right time.

Should one count on it? Nah, but what harm does it do in asking.

In the long run, yes, it is not necessarily in the cards as the member has to make the reservation AND can possibly lose their membership due to acts of the guest, but if a member contacts the OP and they make a good match, all the best to both!

Napa Rose is a great spot, Steakhouse 55 is also good, and Blue Bayou could also be wonderful. I hope Club 33 works out in some way for you.

Ok, big time romantic type person here....while I think the very idea of having dinner at Club 33 is absolutely positively the tops.....I don't think I'd want my proposal to take place there. My husband-to-be knew that I was a romantic and a sentimental type that would want the date and place to be something that we could celebrate every year, like another anniversary. Setting yourself up to propose at Club 33 means that it may very well be a once in a lifetime visit.....and that would make me sad to not be able to return to it year after year.

Others have listed special places around the parks to propose...pick one and make it something very special and something that she can remember and grow misty eyed over each time you visit. A place that she can tell her daughter about each year and take photos each year as your family grows.

You might contact Disneyland and see if they have packages similiar to WDW where they will work with you to make the proposal extra special. They can't help you with a Club 33 reservation, but they have lots of pixie dust and for a price can make it a moment she'll never forget.

After close consideration I agree with all that has been said. Thanks everyone. I'm just waiting for the ring to get finished... Sheeesh!

It's funny because I got an invite to the club, but now I don't even want to use it for this occasion because of return visits, which will be meaningful. I'm working with the guest relations on having mickey make a phone call for me to my GF. It's probably going to be pre-recorded, but when her phone rings, I will have ringtone "dreams come true" tune and a pic of mickey and his name will pop up. I will then talk to mickey, he will show up, and kind of spoof propose to her, but then laugh and give me the ring. I thought it would be cute and romantic? What do you think?

Ok that sounds awesome!!!!! So romantic, I think that is something she will remember.

I think she will absolutely love it! Good luck and every happiness to you both.

I am unanimous when I say that I have no reservations regarding dining at Club 33! ;) No, really.......
