Club 33 lunch -- would you go?

I would absolutely go, and for sure take my kids! Even if they don't understand the meaning of it, as they get older they eventually will. It will be a very special memory for you all.

I would LOVE to go someday, but doubt very much we will ever have the opportunity. I was reading another DL forum and a person who had been twice was asking for someone to get him in again to take a friend--and I was thinking "are you kidding me? To even be able to go once would be a dream come true for so many of us here!"

Good fortune has shined on you--don't let this pass you by!:goodvibes

My husband and I would go in a Heartbeat! However When my kids were that age I am not so sure I would of taken them Unless they really wanted to go. I think they would of rather gone on rides and met up with us later.

Hey Lisa you never know, i thought i would never get there than a kind benefactor said "Do you want to." I can never repay the debt.

We have been fortunate to go to Club 33 many times. It is really a MAGICAL experience and they do an awesome job making you feel very special. The cost is your park hopper and a 5 star dinner rolled into one. I hope you don't miss this special chance- not many people get the opportunity.

While we are on the subject our reservations are on a MM Tuesday, do anyone know where I pick the tickets up now and if I can get them before the MM gates open.

Thanks,

Jack

Jack, I believe you will get a call from the reservation folks, but I've been told that it is Ticket Booth #8. I don't think the booth is open early enough to get in immediately at MM but, since you're staying at the VGC (you are, right?), I would think that if you pick them up (it used to be 30 mins before regular admission) and then use your key from the villa, you should be able to get in.

You might want to check with your host and see if he/she has any more info for you on that. They can probably call Club 33 and get a definitive answer....

How often do you get to Disneyland and how close is this friend? If you could go another time and she'd happily book a reservation for you, then I'd probably wait. I have an 11 year old and I don't think he'd appreciate it and I would definitely not let him wander the parks alone. I don't have experience with a 13 year old though so I don't know if I'd leave them alone or not.

But, seeing as though I can't go very often, if I had the opportunity, I'd jump at the chance and I'd take all four of my kids, 11, 9, 6 and 5 and happily pay for it. If it was a perfect world though, I'd go with just dh and myself on one of our many visits.

I realize that asking this question here is a bit like asking chocoholics if they'd like a hot fudge sundae, but . . . . how about a $400 hot fudge sundae?

We had just about finalized our plans for an August Disneyland trip when a friend informed me that her Club 33 membership had come through and offered to make lunch reservations for us. The cost runs to approximately $100 per person, since our kids are both adults by Disney standards. On the positive side, it does include a park hopper for each person eating on that day, plus of course the experience of Club 33 itself.

We arrive at DLR on a Sunday evening and leave on Friday morning. We have 3-day park hoppers, planning to go to the park Mon/Tues/Thurs and have Wednesday to sleep late and enjoy a beach, pool, and DTD day. So we do have an extra day where we could use the Club 33 park hopper and have lunch there, although we'd be giving up some of our relaxing time. We'd still try to go to the beach, to let our Northern CA kids experience warmer ocean water.

Our kids are 11 and 13 and love DLR, but I'm not sure if they're old enough to really understand the specialness of Club 33. My husband is not as much of a DL fan as I am, but is a good sport and will support what I choose. Money-wise, it might mean giving up an opportunity in the later part of our vacation.

I'm surprised at how indecisive I am. On the one hand, it's Club 33 -- of course we should go! On the other, it's a lot of money, I'm not sure if the rest of my family will enjoy it as much as I will, and the kids really do better with a rest day.

What would you do in my shoes?

Thanks!

Go! Take the people who want to go, let the others have a break. My kid loved Club 33 when he went at age 9, but he's an anomaly, so if yours aren't fascinated, let them stay and enjoy the pool or something.

We had the same issue when went to Club 33 in June. We could not pick up our tickets at 6:45 AM because the ticket booths were not yet open. We had other tickets for the day so we did not wait, but it looked like the booths were about to open when we left.

To the OP, the obvious answer if neither your DH or kids would appreciate the visit: let them enjoy other things while you have lunch with one of your DIS friends. By the way, my DH is not into fine dining and did not join us at Club 33. His only regrets afterwords were that he let the Tweens with us talk him into dining at RFC! -- Suzanne

I would go but maybe you should consider just you and the husband.

Would I go? Yes I would.
It's a really neat, and rare opportunity.

I was able to go a few years ago and it was incredibly fun. Just really awesome. You will not regret it. I'll try to post a few pictures.

Just go! GO! :goodvibes
