I have always dreamt of eating here, but I never paid that much attention to the details since I am not a member and I knew my chances of ever eating here were slim to none.

So I was listening to the podcast Inside the Magic and the just said they are opening up the waiting list for membership, but if you work you way to the top of the waiting list it is a $25,000 initiation fee and then a $10,000 annual fee!!!!!

So what exactly do you get for this? Park admission and the ability to make a reservation there...and then you still have to pay for your meal, right? How many admissions do you get per year?

I am trying to wrap my head around this. It looks like an amazing experience and to eat in Walt's private club is awesome...but $35,000 worth of awesome?

Here's what you get with the new Platinum membership at Club 33:

5 VIP tours per year each valued @ $275/hr x 6 hr min = $1650 x 5 = $8250

4 Premier Annual Passes (valid at WDW/DLR) each valued @ $750 = $3000

50 Park Hopper tickets that you can give to anyone and don't require them to go to Club 33, each valued at @ $105 = $5250

Ability to reserve meals at Club 33

Access to 1901 lounge in DCA

Access to Club 33 Concierge who makes all reservations/arrangements: hotel, restaurant, VIP Fantasmic! viewing, VIP seating for World of Color, etc.

Automatic upgrade at all three DLR hotels (but not DVC stays) & access to Concierge Lounge even if you didn't book that level

Free valet parking at Grand Californian

6 Instant Fastpasses per visit

In other words, it buys you VIP status at Disneyland.

Realize that a lot of companies buy these to use in recruiting and schmoozing. Which can make sense in that context.

Consider the price of luxury boxes at sporting events. Same concept. Just a different venue/entertainment.

Wow, okay I had no idea you got all that! It is making sense now.

I hadn't thought about the corporations buying this either. So, now how do I find one of these companies so that I can get shmoozed with some of these perks? :rotfl2:

I never realized that a Club 33 membership came with all of the above. Now it makes much more sense to me.

I know, right? Up until about last year I thought it was just dinner!

So should I forward my boss a link to the article about the waiting list opening up and cross my fingers?

I need to win the lottery or like you find a company with these perks!!

We should start compiling a list of companies with known membership! :D

I know Chevron definitely still has their membership. Unfortunately, I feel like all the companies I'd work for would probably not have memberships. I am graduating as a Biomedical Engineer, and I haven't heard of any biomedical companies that have Club 33 access.

And here's my shameless plug. I'm graduating this December and am in the process of looking for a job. Anyone know of any biomedical engineers I can get in contact with? :)

Actually, until this year it really only included the ability to reserve meals at Club 33 and to bring guests into the park when dining there, plus a few other minor benefits. The fees were also much lower ($3400/year last year, I believe).

The old members are now considered Gold members and are "grandfathered in" unless they choose to upgrade to Platinum. This year they'll pay $3600 in dues: they get the ability to eat in Club 33, 2 Premier Annual Passes, 50 Park Hoppers, valet parking and 6 Instant Fastpasses per visit. They have the option of upgrading to Platinum, paying the $10k per year, and getting all the other benefits.

Any new members have to join at the Platinum level.

There are more than you know of.

I'd bet Monsanto does from thier early relationship with the park.

Pharm companies who are intertwined with the medical world, use a lot of perks to push thier drugs.

One of the better ways is not to work for someone who has a membership, it's to be a customer of someone who does. When you start working if you have a position that speaks to vendors, start asking.

Just to clarify, Gold members get 2 Premium APs, not Premier.

Previously, they had the equivilant of 2 PAPs, plus teh ability to sign in 2 additional people per day, regardless if they ate at the Club. And all their guests at the club received entry to the park. No, the sign ins have been eliminated and they are allotted 50 parkhoppers a year.

My company has a Club 33 membership. I will never, ever, EVER see a chance to use it though! I am too low on the totem pole ;).

I do get to go to WDW annually (sometimes semi-annually) for "business" events. I guess I will be happy with that. :rotfl2:

Are you looking for a co-worker? I need to find a job where I have to go to WDW every once in a while ;)

you should suggest they have a Christmas party where they have raffle tickets and employees can win a chance to use it

It is a bummer that they capped the amount of park entrances you get for guests. In the past, if you made a reservation at the Club for someone, they just had to go to Guest Services, tell them they have a reservation, show their ID and they get a PH into the park...then they just show at their reservation time, and pay for their meal...Kind of evened out a bit. Now that the park hoppers are limited, some folks will have to pay for a ticket into the park, and the meal...I can understand why some of the Gold members are not too happy with some of the changes made to the membership.

I've heard B of A has a membership to the Club.

Not to hijack but does anyone have a clue about the WOC VIP viewing area where I have heard Club 33 members can arrange viewing, True?

Jack

Does this mean though that they can still make reservations for someone if the people in the reservation already have tickets and not use up their benefits?
