Clowning Around on the Boardwalk! A Wigdout Trip report

We had the same experience with the smoking area outside of Starring Rolls. We took our treats and had to sit somewhere else.

The steak at Shula's looks amazing! My brother raves about that place. It reminds me a lot of Peter Luger's and Sparks Steakhouse.

How was the shopping at the Dolphin?

Yay! What a great update!!! We are going to try a restaurant at the Dolphin, too, Blue Zoo, I can't wait! I have heard good things about all three of these restaurants (Shula's and the Italian place)...

BUT while I loved your TR update, I just gotta ask......

Is THIS one of your "Second Grade Teacher Faces"????

Just had to ask!!!! Something about seven year olds... ;)

Looking forward to your next update -- get that laundry done! :surfweb:

I am still in my velour pants and hoodie, not doing too much, either! We have a cold windy day (after a week of 80s!!!!!!) Ah well, thank goodness for big windows, it looks beautiful outside but I'd be in Kansas right now if I stepped out of the door! Can't wait to read more!!!

Laundry beeping again and going to visit my mom.....
update much later this evening.....

Will look forward to another update later. Glad to hear Shocker listened to the voice of reason and didn't attempt the giant steak. I wonder how many people really do order that?

All caught up! I thought your TR would be pages and pages, but it is actually quite manageable!

Nice crowds at HS! I see you took the quiet escape route. Your sandwich looks yummy. I wanted to eat there last week but it was just too darn hot to sit outside.

I love the BLT villas. We toured the ones at the preview center and they are so cool looking. I am staying at BLT for 4 nights in September with my friend. I can't wait to get up in that lounge. Your pictures are amazing!

Hope you are having a wonderful Mom's Day.

Shula's looks yummy. It's definately on my list of places to try!

I hope I can start my TR this week. I would like to start tonight but I have to sort a Lia sophia jewelry order.

Thanks Stacy! What time do you leave on the 3rd? We arrive that day...
I bet we just miss each other.

We'll most likely leave between 7-8 am as we have a 12 hour drive home. It really bites that we're so close to being there at the same time.:sad2: I think we overlap at Christmas though.:thumbsup2

We didn't notice the smoke at Starring Rolls...just the crowds, poor layout, and little seating. Very yummy treats though and your sandwich looked good.
Those steaks look yummy too! That's a lot of meat, can't even imagine a bigger one!

Hi there Anita, I'm back and all caught up! LOVE the pictures from BLT, it looks amazing! And, your "you better not" face is totally cracking me up - bet that keeps those little kiddos in line  Dinner at Shula's looks yummy!

Happy Mother's Day!

Those hash browns look UBER yummy. Mmmmmm.

No way I could eat that much steak, I would burst then die. :lmao:

Seeing the pics from Shula's kind of makes me sad that we didn't end up eating there with you guys. It looks sooooo good!

I hope you've enjoyed your Mother's Day!

Yum! Shula's looks delicious! I would love to try those hash browns someday!!!
It really was a tasty meal, I would recommend it highly!
Didn't we meet at the Beach Club the next night? After your dinner at.... oh wait, I don't want to spoil anything, since I'm a good secret-keeper! ;) :goodvibes You had just finished souvie-shopping for Harper & the new grandbaby....

Can't wait to read more! :teeth:
YES! That's right....
We walked across the bridge, caught the bus to DTD at the Beach Club and shopped at WOD then came back to Boardwalk....
I think....
:upsidedow
OOOH those steaks look so yummy!! Yes I can see why Shocker decided against the 48oz steak!!!!!! LOL!!

The Dolphin looks so pretty, but you are right it does not scream Disney to me so I don't think I will ever be staying there. Of course never say never, I hear they have a really nice teacher discount!

I'm looking forward to more updates!!!!
If there were a conference happening at the Dolphin and I were invited to go and my district were paying, I'd be staying at the Dolphin!:goodvibes

How was the shopping at the Dolphin?
That was the first time we had smoke bothering us at Starring Rolls.
I guess we've been lucky.
I'll say Shula's is the best steak I've ever had!
You won't believe it but we didn't shop at the Dolphin, I did see some shops though....

Our temps have dropped here too! 80's last week, now low 60's and the wind....

You know, I think that face has appeared a time or two at school, yes a couple of my second graders provoke the "Mrs. Crabapple" side of me.....:rolleyes1

I've heard some really good things about Blue Zoo! Can't wait to hear what you think!

Will look forward to another update later. Glad to hear Shocker listened to the voice of reason and didn't attempt the giant steak. I wonder how many people really do order that?
There sure seemed to be lots of name plates on the wall for those that had conquered the 48 oz steak! I'm glad he didn't feel the need to try it either.

Welcome home!
The BLT villas are so pretty!
That lounge is so cool!
I have stalled out on this trip report and need to get blasting again or it's not going to get done....

Those steaks look yummy too! That's a lot of meat, can't even imagine a bigger one!
We will plan to see each other at Christmas then!
That sandwich is a must do again for sure! We might have to find another place to eat it though...

Happy Mother's Day!
Welcome home Michelle!
Happy Mother's Day to you too!
Honestly, I don't have those kids fooled at all....
The couple that I have to make that face at just roll their eyes.
Shula's was incredible!

Those hash browns look UBER yummy. Mmmmmm.

No way I could eat that much steak, I would burst then die. :lmao:
We can not have you bursting and dying! No way....
Yes, the hash browns were delish!

:thumbsup2 great update!
Thanks!

I hope you've enjoyed your Mother's Day!

I think the guys would have gotten themselves in trouble IF you would have gone....

Hey, just my two cents on The Dolphin -- since we did stay there one night in December, you know it is a nice business class hotel, it isn't a resort -- not with all the amenities, but the rooms are quite nice, and the bed was fantastic. Equal to the sleep I had at the AKL in Feb, very very comfortable, that is their "signature Heavenly bed" -- I can't remember the chain that operates The Dolphin. Anyhow, for what it is worth, I am with WigD, if there was a conference there that I had to go to, you KNOW I would be there... and I'd sleep on rocks! But at least there was Starbucks coffee ;)

I can tell you are on TR overdrive, WigD!!! :drive: Your next trip and cruise is coming up!!! Can't wait for you to enjoy it! Looking forward to the rest of your spring break trip and hearing about the summer kickoff trip planning!!!
:goodvibes

I know you're working on another update, so I'll just comment quick.

That steak - OH MY! That looked good! Swan/Dolphin are really beautiful hotels. It's a deluxe that is not "Disney" for sure. We loved it. The big drawbacks - no DDP and no ME. Maybe someday when we drive and don't do DDP we'd stay there!

Can't wait to hear more!!

And thank you again! I love my goodies.... my keychain and window cling especially and the dollars make my kiddos happy... can't wait to spend them soon!

Shulas looks yummy....and that sandwich is from Starring rolls... I did not know they had food.

Glad I now understand your July trip stays...

I was telling Doug about your hopes for the Villa on the 4th... BLT is his dream resort, so even he thought that sounded awesome!

I am going to get that sandwich is under 2 weeks :) Those steaks looked yummy!! Happy Mother's Day

Well, now looking back through my pictures, I'm remembering a really late night after Shula's...

This is what I think happened.

We went back and changed clothes.
Then to DHS and used those RNR fastpasses that we picked up early that morning....

DSCN0898.jpg

THEN....
Went to EMH at Magic Kingdom.
We had some pixie dust thanks to Julia so we rode Buzz...

DSCN0900.jpg

DSCN0901.jpg

Then pixie dusted Space Mtn....

DSCN0903.jpg

Haunted Mansion was a walk on. As we were walking up, some people were walking away because they thought it was closed. They didn't realize that the door was always closed like that...
So we set them straight!

DSCN0906.jpg

Then we saw Philharmagic, the park was quite empty, we were walking into an on everything at this point.

DSCN0910.jpg

Next we rode the carousel.
I was so excited! Do you know why?

DSCN0911.jpg

The time was....
late.

DSCN0914.jpg

Up next, a Boardwalk morning!

What a fun late night!!! I can't believe you hit two parks after dinner!

Why does Shocker look like part of him is disappearing into hyperspace??? :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

Cinderella's horse!! :yay:

Shula's looks delicious! DH Ramon would like that football with the menu - Go Dolphins!

We love the Dolphin and Swan; we've stayed twice at the Dolphin and once at the Swan in the last couple of years, for (DD2) Nerea's first few trips starting at 5 months old. You're right that it's not "Disney" but I loved the convenience of walking to DHS or rolling the stroller right onto the ferry without having to fold it and wake a sleeping baby ;) and the private entrance to Epcot can't be beat. :thumbsup2 And, you do get to enjoy EMH's, also. I would stay there again but the main reason we haven't is because of no DDP. They do have good discounts for teachers, nurses, law enforcement, and FL residents.

The bed is PURE heaven!!!!! :cloud9: Seriously the best beds ever and the best sleep ever! The chain is Starwood and if you go on their website you can purchase the beds for $$$$, but they are manufactured by Simmons Beautyrest. We talked about it so much that in February my parents gave us a birthdays/anniversary/mother's day/father's day/christmas gift: a Simmon's Beautyrest mattress (not THE Starwood Heavenly Bed, but just as good to us!) :)

Hope your waitlist for BC comes through!! We've only stayed there one night but we'd love to go back sometime!

Glad you had a relaxing Mother's Day! :goodvibes

AWESOME job on Buzz Lightgear btw. I've only gotten 999,999 once because the ride stopped. :D
