Clowning Around on the Boardwalk! A Wigdout Trip report

Good luck today!!! Hope everything goes well!!!!!!

Hey Wigd.....

Good luck at your appt today and do tell on the contract. I still have yet to find a contract that I really want, but I must say that the 3 day cruise incentive on the Disney Dream almost enticed me to pick up the phone today. At least I could get the use year I want. I can not find a 100 point contract anywhere in March!

I was tutoring when I got your message. I am really glad surgery will not be required, and I hope it will heal up quickly on its own and stay that way. For whatever reason, my knee has been hurting me a lot this week. It's a dull, throbbing pain instead of a sharp, stabbing pain, though, so that's a little better. He said he could not fix it completely, but I guess I didn't really take it seriously. There's still too much pain involved for my satisfaction. I hope your arm heals all the way and doesn't flare up and aggravate you.

Is this a four day week for you guys? We are out Friday, teachers included, so I am sure looking forward to that. However, it feels like a Thursday to me already, and it's only Tuesday!

Just wanted to check in to tell you my thoughts are with you with your upcoming appointment tomorrow. I hope it goes well and surgery isn't the option. Can't wait to hear about that contract you are waiting on! Hope you hear something soon!

How is Baylor doing? Is his basketball over now?
Baylor is doing well, and yes, Basketball is over! Contract news coming up! Dr. news as well, thanks so much for the well wishes!
We all know that Eewar shines in the end.

(And I don't mean the hiney kind of end, CP!!!)

I would love to take pictures and post them, but I better not put pictures of my students on here. I will tell you what their comments are, though.

I was glad to find out yesterday that not only do students have Friday off, but teachers, as well. That helps me out a lot for getting ready for Saturday. :thumbsup2 I'm to the point where there's not much else I can do until closer to time, anyway, and Friday I will go full speed in putting it together. It's not until Saturday evening, because one of the sets of cousins had something to do early in the day, so that really works out well that we have all day to do what needs to be done. I think it will be a lot of fun. Trent said he is coming for sure, but he's not sure about Jamie. She may have work obligations.
I'm so tickled that Trent will be with you all this weekend for Bella's party! I hope it works out for Jamie to join him, the car ride won't be so lonely then...
With all you need to get done for the party having Friday off will be just perfect!:thumbsup2
That CP this morning and her hiney talk was quite entertaining!
I guess the pain in my shoulder was making me feel all gloomy, doomy...

mmmmmm.....pocky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

fyi, the rice candy that comes in the pink box is good. I don't even know what it's called. we justed looked for it in the pink box when we went to the japanese market with my ba-chan (grandma in japanese) when we were small. If we behaved, she'd buy us a box or two..
Jordan, I'm going to look for a pink box then next time we are in that store in the Japanese Pavillion, I hope they have it. :goodvibes Actually I'm going to check at the super duper market we have here with the international food aisles...
Wasabi Peas are gooooooooood..... :)

I  wasabi peas!

yay for wasabi pea lovers:):thumbsup2:rotfl2:
Going to look for these too, if you all promise they won't burn my mouth.:cutie:
HA! SEE you are going to start a trend, now we will all go out and break our arms for a VB sling... :lmao: Well okay okay, maybe not.
I did see some of that fabric!
Hi Anita...hope all goes well today
And what is this about a new contract? Do tell ;)
Ooohhh we could make a Vera sling for Anita and it could be the Sisterhood of the traveling sling

Tracy
Contract news coming up, love the idea of Sisterhood of the traveling sling but don't think we'll have time for that.....;)
Sending Good thoughts and prayers your way... I will be waiting for a good report back!

Thinking of you today! Hope your appointment goes well and you don't have to do surgery.

Good luck at your appointment today!

Hope your appointment goes well today and no surgery is needed

Hope your doctor's appointment goes well today! :)

Good luck today

Sending good vibes :goodvibes and pixie dust pixiedust: for you Wigd!!!!!!

Thinking of you today Anita. As all others have said hopefully NO surgery!!pixiedust:

Good luck today!!! Hope everything goes well!!!!!!

I hope everything went well with the dr. today! :goodvibes

You all!! :grouphug: I got to work today and read these that came in before the kids came and then at lunch before the kids came back in from recess and I can't begin to tell you all how blessed I feel to have you all in my life...
Just to know that I have friends that are thinking about me willing to send me a thought or a prayer means so much.

Well I got some great news!
No surgery is needed at this time!
While the break is worse than thought at first, in fact there are a few breaks...
He wants me to start moving the arm and only wearing the sling at school to protect it from the kids.
He also said where it's broken is causing the pain and it's possible but unlikely that there is a torn rotator cuff....
I'm so relieved.
:cutie:

The doctor did tell me that I will more than likely be able to predict the weather by my shoulder.....
We do have a full week, no days off until school is out, this is a very, very long 9 weeks.
I'll bet with your knee you were in so much pain at the time of your surgery any relief was better than what you were feeling at the time.
Does advil or anything help?

I had great luck as you saw above and now if you keep reading I'm about to spill the beans about the new contract..
Wishing you good luck on your appointment and on your potential purchase!! Can't wait to hear all the details!:goodvibes
I got the best news ever this afternoon!

Sunday afternoon I was checking my email and just happened to open one from the Timeshare Store.
We had been to a presentation on our Spring Break trip at Bay Lake Tower but those points were sky high even though the incentives were nice. Because of our use year we didn't qualify for the 2009 points though so that made it a no go even with the free cruise on the Dream...
Besides we really weren't looking to add-on, right?

Until Sunday...
I saw this contract for sale.
Vero Beach 150 pts. with '09,'10 pts. our use year.
$50 per point.
That's a good price!
So we signed a contract and it's off to Disney for right of first refusal.
We will know within 30 days.

This is not a short week for us.....

Our district strictly observes this separation.....

Did I read that CP has a talking hiney? :cool1:

I will be blocking email from that company......

 Anita! I'm glad to hear surgery isn't needed! That stinks though that the break is worse than thought - think healing and happy thoughts! :)

I'm so, so glad you don't need to have surgery to fix the arm!

On the wasabi peas... sometimes they're on the hot side (ok, really hot) and sometimes they're not... so I can't promise they won't burn your mouth. But, I don't have problems eating them, and anything spicier than a jalapeno is usually a problem for me. ;)

Anita - glad to hear you don't need surgery and hope the healing goes well.
On the points - I have a question and feel free to tell me you don't want to answer it. How many points do you own??? I seem to recall you were purchasing a different contract not that long ago. Yes? I'm not trying to be nosy, just trying to figure out how many points would allow for a lot of visits. Are they offering a 3 day cruise with new contracts now? That would be a nice little bonus, but a 7 day would probably really work on a lot of people!
Good luck getting the deal finalized!!
Shocker - blocking email! Ha! You know she'll just set up another email account for Timeshare and Veras!!

Even though there are more breaks than thought initially he thinks it's going to be OK! I just need to remember to do my exercises!

I'm so relieved! I may have to take it easy on the rides on our next trip but still, no surgery!:yay:
I'm still going to try those peas.....

I'm quite excited that I don't need to have surgery right now! I'll be happy to pm you and talk points. We do have a bunch....
The cruise was a nice incentive but it just wasn't enough to get us to pay Disney prices....

Hurrah for no surgery and fingers crossed your contract passes ROFR! :goodvibes

Thanks Christine! Beware the addonitis, it's an affliction that there is no known cure.....

I'm not Anita, but I'll chime in on this if you don't mind. ;) DH & I own 300 points, and have easily managed 3-4 trips a year, at peak times, including some weekend nights, for the past two years (including one trip where we booked 3 separate rooms for family). All of our DVC trips, except one weekend for F&W festival, have been at least 5 nights.

DVC is offering the 3-day cruise with new contracts now... the length of cruise may increase depending on the number of points purchased (I know it does for current DVC owners, not sure about new owners).

LIKE I said... GET A VB Sling :) You know the thought crossed your mind :lmao: Okay, maybe some cute Minnie fabric!!?? OH! WOW you another contract!!! MY goodness, HOW awesome!!! I know who I am going to vacation with!!! Can't wait to hear all about it! That does seem like a great great deal! :thumbsup2

WigD -- were the Boardwalk rooms nice or not yet renovated?

Thanks for the info - we'd looked at DVC a bit in the past and just never seemed to have any extra $$ for it. Wish we had so I'd be in it already!
We came really close to buying on our first Disney cruise - they had a couple of great incentives to go with it.
Do you agree that you can get a better bang for your buck in the resale market? I've heard that before.

Sorry for the hijack. I was just curious. :)

I'm so happy for you that you don't have to have surgery! I know that's a huge relief for you.:goodvibes

Congrats on the new contract. I'm jealous but I'm sure my DH isn't.

I can get you some wasabi peas if you'd like since I'll be there in just 5 days...not that I'm excited or anything!:dance3:

I agree with everything Michelle said! I have found that I really like staying in a 1br so we just require more points...
At this time weekend points are quite high so we have moved out to avoid spending those points for a weekend stay. With the added points I'm not sure if we will continue to do that, maybe, maybe not...
I think DVC is going to restructure points to things will equal out a bit between weekends and weekdays.

I believe you do get much more bang for your buck with a resale. We have bought from Disney and from resale.
I could call Disney today and tell them that I'd like to purchase Vero Beach. They would probably buy the points that I'm trying to buy right now and sell them to me for $104 per point w/o the '09 points.
So what kind of deal would that be, no incentive, over twice what I would be paying and no extra points....

At this time you can buy any of the DVC resorts from Timeshare Store. At a savings.

The Boardwalk rooms were soooo nice! Newly renovated! We loved it there!
You know we can't wait to vacation with you all again....

Sorry for the hijack. I was just curious. :)
We can't imagine not having our DVC. We couldn't afford our vacations without it.
I'm so happy for you that you don't have to have surgery! I know that's a huge relief for you.:goodvibes

You can't imagine how relieved we are about the absence of surgery!
I wish there was some way we could explain our DVC experience to your DH. We just love it!
I know how excited you are about your trip! It takes one of us to feel it with you....:goodvibes
I'm going to check my grocery and if I can't find any I'll let you know. I might have something for your shopping list!
