I have a question. My family has never been to disney. But since I have been on these boards for a while now I feel I know a thing or two. My husband insists that we need to bring some dressier clothing than short, t-shirts and sneakers. I have told him that we are not going to the dressier places, like Victori'as and Alberts, and California Grill. I feel if he sees a response from an experienced person he will believe them. Thanks :cool1:

I NEVER pack a dressy outfit for Disney unless I am going to V and A's
( which we did once). It is not that kind of trip. You want to be comfy. There isn't anywhere that shorts are not acceptable. Even when we did Cirque we still wore shorts as did 90% of the people there. I say pack light and comfy!

I agree....we have never taken dressy clothes. The most important thing is that you are comfortable.

Hee hee, you will not believe some of the outfits you will see & they are perfectly acceptable (well, that is a matter of taste). If your hubby wants to go dressy have him pack polo shirts instead of t-shirts and sandals instead of tennies!! Nothing dressy is needed!

i have read that people dress up a bit for cirque du soleil what should i wear? :confused3

dh and i often wear dressier clothing (i don't wear shorts), but it is what we're comfortable with.

DH and I wear nicer clothes if we are going to eat at a restaurant out of the parks like Artist Pointe or Jiko. By nicer I mean I'll wear a denim skirt and a non T-shirt and he might wear a short sleeve button down shirt and khakis w/ sandles. You definately see people in shorts and t-shirts though and as long as you aren't uncomfortable, I don't think anyone else cares.

The most we do is Polo shirt and khaki pants for DH and Capri's and blouse for me. We pack these just in case and if we feel like getting out of shorts and t-shirts. I will say just for that fact it feels kind of nice. We never do more than that though.

I agree with the above posts-dress comfotable. I usually take 1 dressy outfit and it never makes it out of the suitcase. My Dh and I wear shorts and t-shirts, I take some tank tops and a pair of comforatable sandles. I usually take a short skirt for a night out on pleasure island and downtown disney. It's the only place at WDW that I have felt underdressed. I noticed alot of people clean up over there at night but not during the day.(Just my observation)

We too usually bring 1-2 nicer casual outifts. This would be a real causual skirt (gonna probably pair it w/ flip-flops or sandals) and a nicer top. Possibly nicer capri's. DH will usually bring nicer khaki shorts and a polo w/ sandals. We really like to go to Ohana's on a non-park day, this would be where these outfits came in. However, there are tons of people in very casual shorts, tee's and tanks there too. So, it's really whatever you want to wear.

I would still wear comfortable clothes. 90% or the people we saw the show with were in shorts or casual skirts. Nothing dressy AT ALL. I think I saw one older couple in evening clothes ( floor length dress and heals and a suit). They were the only ones I saw.
